Once again we have a beautiful sunny morning and day.
Sure nice to be out early this morning and walking.
It was 50 degrees and calm.
Started my walk going around one of the cemeteries.
Next went down the road towards home but took a detour
up Sale Barn road.
Walked through town and up and down the side streets
as I made my way over to the ball park and around that loop.
The four baby chicks are getting big.
Might be hard to see but there are 4 of them standing close together.
Continued walking back through town and up to the other cemetery
and walked around there to finish up my walk.
Swimming in the pond were not only the two geese families
that I've been watching, but three others have moved in too.
A rare moment to catch all five families on the pond
at the same time.
Stayed for a little while watching them.
Nice to see Rebecca out walking on this beautiful morning.
😊 🥾 ☀️ 🌸
Clothes out on the line blowing gently in the wind this morning.
A lovey sight to see.
Ken asked if I would bake some English Muffin Loaves
so I did that this morning plus finishing up my weekly
house cleaning chores.
Went outside for a little while after lunch.
Picked out a few weeds out of the gravel and just walked
around for a bit.
Then I sat out on the front porch and read for a while.
Sorry to say I've given up on the cow counted cross stitch.
I keep making mistakes and just can't see good enough.
It's complicated with so many colors very similar.
I'm not enjoying doing it so I figure why do it.
Have so many other things I enjoy doing.
Hope you enjoyed your Thursday.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
HappyK🙂

Debbie - Summer temperatures here where I live range between the mid 70's to the mid 80's during the day. Night temperatures range from the mid 50's to 60's. We do have some HOT days in the 90's once in a while but not as a rule. The summers to me feel like one long spring!

Isn't it lovely to walk on these pretty days and take joy in the wildflowers growing along the edge of the road? We have those purple ones too and I really like them.
I don't blame you for quitting that cross stitch. Sometimes it just isn't worth it!
What beautiful photographs and such a wonderful landscape! I loved the little geese and the chickens. And the feeling of that small lake brings such a sense of peace. Right now, just before bedtime, an image like this will stay with me and carry me away.
Hi Karen, I've been taking a break from blogging lately and sorry I haven't been by with comments for you. Since my last visit you've changed your format and added a new header and it all looks GREAT! Very nice work. I so admire my blogging friends who post daily or almost daily and do a great job of it. Keep up the good work and say HI to Ken. John
Dear Karen, your photos are gorgeous and the chickens are so cute.
I think it is good to not persevere if you don't like doing something. Life is short enough to waste any time. The pond water is so beautiful.
It is good that you gave up the cow. Life is short enough without wasting your time on something you don't like. The pond water is so pretty!
...I can relate to not being to see well enough either!
Lots of geese and goslings on the pond. The water is so blue!! I like the contrast with the green grass.
A lovely morning walk. The pond looks so nice in your morning photo. How nice to be able to use the clothes line for your wash! Hope you have a great Friday!
A beautiful morning. I don't blame you for giving up on the counted cross stitch. I find that if I push myself to do a project I'm not enjoying, the results are very good.
Beautiful scenes and photos. I love the flowers and the chickens.
Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
Sunny days sure beat the cold Winter ones to walk in my opinion. We have been blessed with many sunny days lately. We finished all of our mulching, planting and weeding. Now time to enjoy the fruits of our labor for a bit. Rain is coming in tonight and tomorrow. Janice
What a beautiful, full Thursday! 50 degrees and calm is the absolute perfect weather for an early morning walk, no wonder you hit over 18,000 steps! That is incredible!
Catching all five geese families on the pond at the exact same time must have been such a magical sight. I love that you just stood there and soaked it in. And those little baby chicks are growing up way too fast! There really is nothing like the sight of fresh clothes blowing gently on the line to make a sunny day feel complete. Plus, Ken is a lucky man, the smell of fresh English Muffin Loaves baking after a long walk is pure heaven.
I also wanted to say: good for you for putting down the cow cross-stitch! Life is way too short to spend your precious free time on a hobby that is straining your eyes and causing frustration instead of joy. You have so many other beautiful talents and things you love to do, so giving yourself permission to walk away from it was 100% the right call.
Did you read anything good while sitting out on the porch after lunch? Sending you the biggest hugs, and I hope your Friday is just as lovely!
I love going along on your walks with you. That pond is spectacular and the one picture that really catches my eye is the one on Sale Barn Rd with the tree and the flowers. I am with you on giving up on a project that is not a joy or pleasure to work on. I have finally given myself permission to do that!
Happy weekend, my friend. xo Diana
Lovely photographs.
All the best Jan
