Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No walk and the waterfalls

Rain rarely keeps me from my morning walk but it did this morning.
Torrential rain with thunder and lightning.

This is the little waterfall that Ken made on the side of our house.
Most days it is dry.
I took a short video so you could hear the sound.

We ended up going down to LaVale.
Ken needed to go to Harbor Freight.
We just needed a few things from Walmart so went shopping
at the one in LaVale instead of the one in Oakland where we usually go.
This one is so much nicer that ours.
It is bigger with wider aisles.

Bad news about our little raised garden.
We've had it for a few years and part of the bottom rotted out.
All the rain we had made it heavy and the dirt fell out the bottom.
Saved some of the plants by replanting them in the other raised garden
that we have with strawberries in it.
This one is probably about to rot out too.
Just hope it lasts for this season.

Read this afternoon and worked a little more on the cow X Stitch.

Hope you had a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sure wish we would get some of your rain. We are so dry we are in critical fire danger.

Yes, your little waterfall was really gushing ...
Pleased you were able to rescue some of the plants, hope your remaining raised garden lasts the season.

All the best Jan

i use 2 raised garden "trudges" for my above ground garden. i have had them for years and never had a problem!! i am lucky because otherwise, i would not be able to have a garden...too many critters!! i love that little waterfall, that's a great idea!! and the butterflies i raise tend to be very docile and don't mind hanging out on my hand/finger!!

Suh a pretty little waterfall! I'm sorry about your garden. We have a raised one too and now I wonder if that's in our future.

The water is really moving over that waterfall. Sorry to hear about the raised bed. Will you rebuild it?

Hi 😊👋 Karen! I wanted to say that, there’s something very comforting about spaces like yours. It reminds me of the older internet, when blogs felt personal and human. Thank you for still keeping that spirit alive..Thanks for writing every day. It inspires us.

Tons of thunderstorms here, too. What a shame about the garden! But the tiny waterfall is wonderful!

Hi Karen! Wow, I love your little waterfall, and it was fun to listen to it. You have too much rain, and we are in dire need of rain out here in Utah. Too bad about your raised garden, but I hope you can save some of the little plants. I love the Nathaniel Hawthorne quote at the end of this post. See you again soon!

The waterfall sounds great, it sounds a lot bigger than it is. Sorry to hear about you raised bed rotting out, hopefully the transfer will be successful.

Wow! That had to be an intense system. We have no rain for a minute so I have to get out and mow before the next storm rolls through. That waterfall sounds huge! What fun to have your own minifalls!

We lost 7 shrubs this Spring. Either we had a really bad Winter or bad Spring. Either way need to replace now. UGH Love your little waterfall. Janice
