62 degrees this morning with a mix of sun and clouds for walking.
Walked around one cemetery and then the other.
Down by the farm pond behind the Drane house one of the bulls
is getting a drink.
I saw both horses this morning too.
Haven't seen them for a while.
Next I walked down the main road toward home a ways turned around
came back to town and stopped at the Jeep to pick up a DVD.
Continued to the library and put it down the drop.
Then walked over to the ball park and walked that loop a coupe of times.
I spotted 4 baby chicks.
3 of them here
and one little chick that was on the wrong side of the fence.
If you look closely you can see the other 3 of them at the right edge of the picture.
I tried to catch the one to put her back but couldn't catch her.
No one else out this morning that I saw anyway.
😊 🥾 🌤
Did a load of laundry and out on the line to dry.
Got them off the line just in time before it started raining this afternoon.
I baked another batch of cookies this morning.
This time lemon ones for a friend who has a birthday coming up
and loves anything lemon.
These were super easy made with lemon cake mix.
Just add 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of oil to the cake mx.
I added a small amount (1/4 teaspoon) of lemon extract.
Drop by tablespoons on cookie sheet and bake 14 minutes
in a 350 degree oven.
Finished knitting my pink slippers last evening and
sewed them together today.
I got the cow counted cross stitch kit out that I bought a little while ago.
This is so nice.
A nice big in color chart.
The floss already sorted.
I got the cloth onto the frame.
I've never used a square frame like this before.
Only used the round hoops.
So far like it.
Did a little bit of the cross stitch just to get started.
Hard starting with white because I could hardly see it.
So much easier with the dark color.
Here's a close up to see it better.
It is only 7 by 9 1/2 inches so not a big project and it shouldn't take me
all that long.
Nice to get started on a cross stitch again, it's been a while.
That's all for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

The way you captured the light on the red barn and the plowed rows of earth are so pretty . . . great photo.
I did a cross stitch back 50 years ago when Steve and I were first married. I remember it being so time consuming and never did another. I guess that's why I like quilting . . . it took be around 6 weeks of spare time to do my little 8inch square of cross stitching.
I do like how the light and shade/shadow shows in your first two photographs... lovely.
All the best Jan
After a couple of days having trouble solving the Wordle I had success 2 days in a row getting it in three tries. It's a fun challenge.
Those chicks are so cute. One seems like a rebel ( can't stay on the right side of the fence :))
Hi Karen, I always enjoy your posts and lovely photos. I am happy to see that you are doing a cross stitch in a cow 🐄 theme. Your first two photos are beautiful and I am also glad to see the chickens 🐔 😊
It was a bit on the cool side here today and we did get some rain too. I have one of those square frames. I liked it. That white floss is hard to see .
I love your photos of the early morning light. It's such a pretty time of day.
I used to do lots of counted cross stitch but haven't done it for years now. I really like the pattern you're doing. The slippers turned out great!
The poor chick. Wonder how she got outside. they are all so cute. The cross stitch kit looks so nice, especially since you have cows around there. So pretty how the sun lights up the side of the red barn.
Your pictures are amazing, Karen...especially that first one!
Love your pink slippers. They look so comfy.
Those lemon cookies sound delicious. Your friend will be much appreciative of your efforts.
Love that the counted cross stitch picture is of cows!
...I will look forward to seeing the completed cross stitch!

What lovely photos! That first one is beautiful.
Your photos always delight me. God bless you. Hugs. xoxo.
The sunshine is so pretty in your photos. Those chickens are entertaining. :) Those cookies do sound easy to make. A nice treat for your friend. Happy day to you!
You captured the beauty of your morning walk wonderfully, my friend. I always love hearing about your days. I am continuing my early morning walks, and am loving them. It is quite a bit cooler here today!
I like all the photos, the barn and the horses and the chickens.
Take care, have a wonderful day!
Be very careful with that hoop when taking it off. I used one once and it ripped my linen when I went to remove it. Thankfully it was a small project and did not affect my stitching. I wont use this one anymore and only use my wooden ones now. Janice
lol, Connie. I haven't crossed stitch in a long time either. Maybe I just can't sit still long enough♥I liked the alphabet cross stitch but, again, haven't in awhile. I enjoy crocheting for charity much more.
I made the lemon cookies yesterday, and my husband really likes them. They're being shared with packers today for a move to another state. Blessing . . .
