Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Learning something new

This morning it wasn't cold at 54 degrees but it was a rainy walk with a bit of a breeze.
The weather has been like a yoyo.
Sunrise 6:29

I walked around both of the cemeteries and the ball park each a couple of times.
Then continued up and down the main road and side streets.

The fisherman was there at the pond again fishing in the rain.
I said to myself, he must really like to fish.
And then I thought he's probably thinking, she must really like to walk. ๐Ÿ˜Š

It wasn't a heavy rain so actually it was quite nice walking along.

We went to a couple of stores looking for a weed trimmer but didn't find the one we wanted.
Will probably end up buying it on line.

Finished up the last of this weeks house chores.

I found a great YouTube tutorial on learning to crochet.
Here's my practice swatch of the single crochet stitch.
The first few rows don't look quite right but now I think I've got it.
I'll practice this a little more and then go on to learning the double crochet stitch.
I'm liking this crocheting! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿงถ

A happy day to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

I like your rain photo. Spring is always a fickle season.

The weather is a yoyo here too. Today was beautiful, this weekend we're supposed to be very cold and rainy again.
Your crochet looks great!

I recently taught myself to knit but didn’t do much with it. I do prefer to crochet. I’m working on a blanket right now

The color is really pretty. Both you and the fisherman are totally dedicated!

Another fun hobby for you in crocheting. I was chuckling at your conversation with yourself about the fisherman. :) We had rain today!

My mom crocheted and started crocheting when I was young. I haven't picked up a needle since my first son was born. After having kids, just too busy. I have too many crochet hooks from both my mom and grandmother. I just can't part with them, always holding out that one day I will start up again.
When you said that about the fishermen, I instantly thought what you thought. Lol. My sons are out backpacking in the rain as I write this. So you, the fisherman and my sons belong to a very special club - the storm troopers. ๐Ÿ˜

Your first effort at crochet looks so good. You have a talent for handwork.

I love to crochet, can't do anything too fancy, but I get by. My grandmother was the best, she could carry on a conversation and never drop a stitch. I have a few of her pieces, they're very old and very fragile. I used to display them around the house, now they're packed away to save on the wear and tear. Sometimes I get the box out and look at them. Good luck learning all the different stitches, your first piece looks great!

We had a few different showers during the morning, but it turned out to be a beautiful day in the end! Great job on the crochet swatch! I'm a crocheter rather than a knitter, so it's exciting for me to see that you are learning a new craft!

My wife taught herself to crochet and now she's been doing it for over 45 years. Have fun!
