Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A cold walk but sunny

Sunset last night from the front porch.

It was cold this morning for walking but the sun was shining and there was no wind.
The temperature was 28 degrees and I had all my winter layers on.

Walked to the post office first and mailed a letter and then to the library to put a DVD down the drop.

Then walked around the ball park loop.
The chickens were all huddled together, probably to keep warm.

Continued walking to the DG Market where I turned around and walked back through town and up and town some of the side streets.
Walked twice around the lower cemetery and by that time had all my steps in.

Rebecca was out walking Leo and she wondered if I was out walking in the snow yesterday because she thought of me.
She wasn't at all surprised that I was out. 🙂

🛒 Food shopping this morning and it was back to Walmart.
They are still changing things around and they got rid of all the self check outs.
We were disappointed because we like the self check out there.
Ken scanned the stuff and I enjoyed bagging it all up in my cloth bags nice and neatly with like things going in the same bag.
We had a good system.

Home for lunch.
Did a couple things around the house and then I went outside to work on the brush fence.
Ken came out after a bit too and cut up some big limbs for me with the chain saw.
Then we walked around a bit seeing what all has to be done.
Well really nothing HAS to be done, we just enjoy making trails and being in our woods.

Roasted veggies and sausage are in the oven now which we will be eating in a little. while for supper.
I make this pretty often.  I make a lot and there are leftovers for tomorrows lunch.
It is one of our favorites and it is so easy, delicious and good for you too.

Hope you had a wonderful Tuesday and thank you for stopping by, and I sure do appreciate the comments.
HappyK😊

Debby - Elevation here is about 2,800 feet. Not high at all by your standards.🙂

That was a cold start to the day. It was chilly here too, but it's supposed to be better tomorrow.
Nice to wander around and look at what you want to get done.
Supper sounds good!

Great shot of the chickens huddling to keep warm. Sounds like you are on top of your acreage. We worked the last to days trying to get the windblown brush and limbs cleared and burned. We just have a couple large piles of limbs left. Have a wonderful evening.

Beautiful photos, dear Karen! Your supper sounds scrumptious! I love the Scripture verse as well.

...I'm glad to hear that you enjoy self checkout, I sure don't.

No more self checkouts? We love them, too. We can bag the way we want to. I wonder if they are taking them out in all the Wal-Marts? I will ask A1. Love the chickens all huddled together!

I wonder why your Walmart took out the self check-outs. We like ours and use it every time. Other stores have more complicated ones but we never have trouble at Walmart.( And if you do there's always a helpful person available.)

From what I have read, Wal-Mart is only removing the self-checkouts from their stores that have a lot of shoplifting.

I also like self check out. I prefer to bag up things how I like!
