Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day and I'm thankful for it

Another warm morning at 43 degrees.
It was cloudy when I walked but on the way home
it started to rain and continued on and off all day.

I had a nice walk all around town, the ball park, and both cemeteries.
I was going to go over to the long barn to see the cows but
the farm road there was muddy.

By the way 2 calves have already been born
with 148 more to go!!

The fire alarm went off while I was walking and then I saw
the rescue squad take off.
I never saw them come back.
Thinking they either had to take some one to the hospital
or they stopped for breakfast.

๐Ÿงถ Stitching morning at the library.
6 of us there today.
I started knitting a shawl.
It starts with just 2 stitches and you increase a stitch every other row
until there are 158 stitches.
Some kind person dropped off a whole bunch of needle craft kits
at the library to give away to whoever wanted one.
We all looked through the lot of them and I came home with this one.
I've never done crewel before so this is new for me.

This afternoon I did some puzzling, reading, and more knitting.

Liz sent another picture of baby Silvia Fay.
She is one week old.

Hope your day was a happy one.
Thanks for coming by.

GrannyM - I've seen as many as 15 chickens at a time.  Some days they aren't all out of the coop.  I've never seen a rooster.

The baby is adorable and surrounded by joyous yellow. Wow, so many calves to be born! I used to be very good at crewel. Phil would make frames for them and I would hang them on the walls.

Little Silvia Fay is darling. What a blessing for your whole family! I love the bright yellow weave it square blanket you made for her. I well remember when you made a weave it square blanket for my little granddaughter. I love how you always share your talents with others. Have a good Sunday!

Such a cutie baby Silvia Fay is. It has snowed both yesterday and today now. Snuggled in and watching some tv and stitching. Janice

I like the crewel pattern,. I never done crewel but I do like to cross stitch. The baby is precious, she looks so sweet with all the yellow around her and her cute yellow hat.
