Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Dug out and went to the dentist

2 degrees this morning and icy so no question about
going to town and walking.
Another walk in the basement.

We never did get the driveway cleared yesterday.
Very icy and the tractor with chains got stuck down at
the end of the driveway.
The grit truck came by late yesterday so this
morning Ken was able to get the tractor back up the driveway
and a path cleared so we could drive down in the car.

Just in time too because we both had dentist appointments in town
at 10:00 and 11:00.

I might have told you this story before but every time it is real
cold and snowy I think of this.
Some years ago when we lived in town I went for my walk as usual.
It was a snowy day and I read the thermometer at 11 degrees.
It seemed a bit cold and as I'm walking Ken pulls up beside me
in the truck and tells me to get in the truck.
Says it is too cold for you to be out here.
I then say it is 11 that's not that bad.
He says, it's not 11 but 1 below zero.
I got in the truck and went home.

Washed the sheets and put chicken in the crock pot this morning
before going to the dentist.
I always go first to get it over with.
I took my knitting with me and knitted while it was Ken's turn.
Good news at the Dentist - both of us just had a cleaning with no problems.
Always such a nice feeling leaving the dentist office.

We needed a few things from the store so went to
Shop and Save.

That's all for today.
Hope your Monday is a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

You must have a very high tolerance for the cold! What a story. Congrats on the good dentist report!

I agree with Ginny's comment, you must have a high tolerance for the cold! I also don't care for the dentist. A necessary thing, though.

I echo Ginny's comment, dear Karen.

It was 2 here this morning as well. Glad you were able to get out to go to the dentist. Our road is still snow covered, but we shouldn't have any trouble getting out tomorrow. Carroll has laser surgery in the afternoon and we don't want to have to reschedule that.

Hi Karen! So glad you and Ken had good visits to the dentist, with no problems. Josh had a dental check-up today too and no problems for him either. We had sunny skies with a high of about 50 today. Feels like spring, but we need some snow. Hope you have a good Tuesday.

Oh my that must have been a really cold walk.
Nice going to the dentist and not getting any bad news. That's good that you can get back to back appointments

Brrr, that is cold. I don't remember the story about Ken rescuing you from the below zero temps. I'm amazed that you weren't frozen by that time.
Hooray for good news at the dentist. I was at the dentist last week to have two old crowns replaced. I had been putting it off for months and am glad it is done now.

Hello,
I do not enjoy walking on these super cold and windy days.
I am glad you both had good checkups at the dentist.
Take care, have a wonderful day!

Whew! Its so nice that you two look out for each other. Glad you could get the tractor back up the drive and then that you were able to make it out to the dentist! We were at 52 degrees for the high yesterday. Yikes...too warm for this time of year! Happy Tuesday to you.

You know it's winter when the tractor with chains gets stuck!
Just 5 days until the Solstice and we can begin to think of spring
( at least I will!).

WoW, you're going to turn into an icicle! lol It's always good for me to get a dentist visit over and done with, great accomplishment. Good to hear you're both okay with no future visits needed soon.

We don't have snow but high strong winds and some mist today.
