Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Red Blanket

This morning when I walked it was 26 degrees,
cloudy and a bit windy.
Had a very haphazard walk all around town.
Today there were icy patches so was limited in the places
I felt save walking.
But it was good to be outside and I did get all of my steps in.

A lot of people keep their Christmas lights on all night so it is
nice walking around town seeing all the lights.
It especially looks nice in the snow.

Again didn't see anyone else out.
Lena called while I was walking to ask if I would pick her up
for the stitchery group.
She is a neighbor who lives a little more that a mile from me
and she is right on the way.

I was a bit optimistic in thinking I could get
the scarf knitted in a day.
Just got a little more than half done yesterday.

I picked up Lena and we got to the library at 9:30.
There were 7 of us there this time.
I brought the scarf to knit on and didn't finish it there either.
The scarf is for Jalene and I just told her I was making it for her
and would bring it finished next week.
She was pleased to say the least!!
(I finished it at home this afternoon)
Mikie surprised me with a blanket she knitted for me.
She knows red is my favorite color.
Isn't it beautiful!!

It's been snowing all afternoon and is supposed to continue
through the night.
Might be an inside walking day tomorrow.

Sure is nice having a nice warm cozy house on days like this.

Hope this Saturday finds you having a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.

The blanket is beautiful and rich looking. And it looks so good beside your cute little tree. I am so glad you did not fall today!!

It's very cold here - wind chill of 4 degrees, so we were also happy for a warm house!
That red blanket is so pretty. What a nice thing to do. I'm happy to see you receive something as you are usually giving things away. I do know what a joy it is to give though!
