Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Mushroom

This morning on my walk it was 59 degrees and sunny.
Saw one deer on the way to town.

Walked around both of the cemeteries first.
As I was walking a deer came charging through the corn
and ran across the cemetery.
I managed to get a picture though not a very good one.
Can you spot her up ahead?

The sun rose at 6:24 but it didn't make it to town till
a few minutes before 7:00.
It has just come over the mountain when I took this picture
which you can see by my very long shadow.

Made my way over to the ball park and walked around there.
The baby chicks were all out and this time they didn't run away.
I got a picture of all 8 of them.

Continued walking all around town and up and down the side streets.

John was out walking his dog Prim.

This very big mushroom was the first mushroom I've seen this year.
I saw it yesterday and took a picture.

I went back to look at it this morning and it now looks like a bell.

I'll go by tomorrow and see what it looks like then.

On the way back home I saw 12 deer all along my road.
Some came running from the left, others from the right.
I had to drive very slowly to avoid them all.
Usually they just linger near the edge of the road.
They were all in a hurry today.

Saturday morning usually finds me at the library
and that's where I was again this morning.
There were 6 of us there today.
Knitting, making weave-its, crocheting, and embroidering.

Last night I baked a batch of brownies and this afternoon baked 2 more batches.
All 3 are for the kids at Sunday School tomorrow.
I put either a letter or a number on each one because
they are treats for back to school.
Hard not to eat one but there weren't any extras.
Not so good at drawing the letters and numbers on them.
Don't look too closely Ann. 😊

Hope all is well with you and you had a great Saturday.
Thanks once again for stopping by.
❤️ HappyK 🤗

Dianna - Yes, we have been to the Springs Festival a couple of times.  There is so much to see there that it is overwhelming. Both times we went the traffic along the road it's on is backed up for miles.  Probably won't go again.

Diane - No, I haven't posted anymore tombstones.  I just posted the ones that had the elaborate etching on them.

Ellen - The Speckled Park cattle may look scary but they are actually quite gentle and even let me pet them.

I DO see the deer! The chicks got used to you so fast. Your numbers & letters are a lot better than mine would be!

I saw the deer. Wow that’s quite a large herd of deer you saw. I wonder what’s got them on the move? That is the most bizarre mushroom I’ve ever seen. Do you know what kind it is and is it edible? My area and Oregon are prime location for mushroom foraging. Edibles of course ( chanterelles and morels, porcini) but psychedelic mushrooms are legal in Oregon for therapeutic use but they find their way into California being sold. Those you have to watch out for.

You were very quick to get a shot of the deer that came charging out of the corn field. I wonder what spooked it.
Have a lovely peaceful Sunday.
