Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Baby Chicks

 Sunrise 6:21
Sunset 8:24

This morning when I walked it was 60 degrees, cloudy, and a bit windy.

Typical walk around both cemeteries, around town a couple of times
and around the ball park too.

There are 7 baby chicks.
They were all by the fence but by the time I got out my phone
to take a picture they were all running away.
One of the big chickens rushed away with them, I guess protecting them.
The big chicken is one big blur she was running so fast.
I'm sure in time the little ones won't run away from me and
I can get a better picture.

Didn't see anyone else out.
A quiet morning around town.

Only saw 2 deer on the way home this time.
Again they just down the road from my house.

☁️    🐓    🌽    🥾

Before food shopping at Walmart this morning we stopped at Lowe's.
Ken still working at getting the garage neat and got some
pegboard to hang up some stuff.

We ended up with a sunny day with it only getting to 71 degrees.

A quiet afternoon around home.
As you can guess I read and knitted.

Hope you had a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.

I love this little garden with the blue birdhouse. The chickens look flustered for sure!

I pass a couple houses on my way to work every morning that have chickens running around in the front yards. I wish I could stop and take pictures but no time. I haven't spotted any chicks

Hi Karen. Sounds like your temperatures are cooling down a bit. That is a cute picture of the mama hen herding her little chicks to safety. I really love that raised flower garden in the picture. I would like one like that. I hope you have a good Thursday. See you then!

I like the raised bed of mixed flowers. I recognize the sunflowers. Not sure what the others are but they're pretty.

Baby chicks are so cute. My maternal grandmother would actually keep new chicks in her house under a heat lamp. I would watch them at night when I was at her house. Janice

Aw, it is always fun to see babies. We are enjoying baby, toddler, and teenage quail right now. Your walking time looked very pleasant.

That big blur of a hen running is so funny. The chicks don't look scared at all. My hens make me laugh when they run. I love that Bible verse.
