Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Book

A warm walk this morning at 69 degrees
with a mix of sun and clouds and it was calm.

First walked around both of the cemeteries.
Then over to the library and put a DVD down the drop.
The DVD was The Sand Pebbles with Steve McQueen.
I didn't really like it.
Was very long and depressing.

Then walked all around town.

Someone else is getting a garage built in town.

Lastly walked around the ball park loop and back to the Jeep.

Saw a young woman walking who I've never seen before.

⛅️     ðŸ¥¾    😊

I did housework all morning and got LOTS done.
A good feeling to have gotten so much of it done so early in the week!!

Pastor Leatherman, our Pastor has written a book
and it was just published and I'm quite excited about it.
I bought a copy last night.
It is 10 sermons on Revival that he has preached.
I started reading it this afternoon.😊

It got pretty hot today at 89 degrees.
89 degrees is quite high for here!!!
There was a nice breeze though so it wasn't that bad.
I got to use a brand new color for the first time
on the temperature blanket I'm knitting.
It is called Really Red.

I sat out on the porch this afternoon for a while.

Supper tonight was pasta and sauce with a small salad.

Hope your Monday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Looks like you had a very good and productive day. Sorry that the DVD was long and depressing, I hate those type of movies. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

I first saw The Sand Pebbles at a drive-in in the 60s from the rumble seat of my parents' VW Bug. I enjoyed it again as a young adult because I love military movies and Steve McQueen. I’ll look for it to watch again, as I believe it’s based on a true story. Sorry you didn’t like it—there are so many movie genres for that reason.

I wasn’t as productive today, but there’s always tomorrow. The day just flew by too quickly.

Hi Karen. I bet Pastor Leatherman's book is very good. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I was wondering if Pastor Leatherman was still your pastor. He's been at your church for quite a while. Glad you had another nice day. See you again soon!

A nice garden by the library.
I don't think I've seen that Steve McQueen film.

All the best Jan

The flowers at the library are so pretty!
Really Red is a good color for hot weather. It hit 98 here today and is supposed to continue being hot and humid all week.
I'm sure you'll enjoy that book!

Don't you hate when a movie is long and depressing?? Your day sounds lovely. I also got quite a bit done around here this morning. I find that when I get going, after my coffee time of course, I have more energy throughout the day. Flynn and I are finishing school, so Steve made dinner tonight. Have a cozy evening, my friend.

I had to drive to work this morning. It was already 84 at 5:30 this morning. When I got out of work it was 100 and when I got home it was 93. UGH Not loving this Summertime heat. Congrats to your pastor on his book. Janice

The temperature here today reached 92 degrees and was really humid. I went to the flowerbed early this morning when it was 68 degrees. I'm glad you were still able to walk this morning.

Pastor Leatherman's book looks really good. I know you will enjoy reading it.

Your supper sounds really good. I've been hungry for a pasta salad. I'm going to check out your recipe blog to see if you have a recipe for one. I know it would be good if it were your recipe.

Have a great week, my friend. xx
