Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking

After three days of not walking I thought that was enough
of resting my Achilles tendon.
So I went walking this morning.
Walked a bit slower than usual and when it first starting hurting
I sat down on the bench in the park for a few minutes and then
started walking again.
That seemed to do the trick.
I'll just take it easy for a while.

Nice walking this morning.
57 degrees, sunny, and just a light breeze.

I think these little yellow flowers in the ditch by the pond
are buttercups.

Walked around one of the cemeteries and then down the road
towards home and back again.
Through town and passed where we used to live and then around
the ball park loop before heading back to the the pond.

Nice to see some people around.
John was out walking Prim.
RuthAnn was walking her two dogs.
Juan and his wife (forgot her name) were walking.
Two people fishing.
My friend Jalene from Needlework drove by and waved to me.
(Jalene is Farmer Marvins's wife)

☀️    🥾    🙂

I came home from church yesterday with a whole bunch more rhubarb,
enough to last me for a year or more!!!

This morning I washed it all and then cut it up and put it in plastic bags
which then went in the freezer.
I cut up 30 cups of it and it weighted 13 pounds!!!

Perfect day for doing the laundry.
Sunny with a breeze and the clothes dried in 1 1/2 hours!!

Got a bit of housework done this morning.
Was going to go out and pick rocks out back but figured I
wouldn't push it with my Achilles.
It is pretty uneven walking back there in the woods.

So I stayed on the porch and deck and read and knitted.

It was a most enjoyable day. 🙂

Supper tonight was baked pasta.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was sunny and bright.
Thanks for stopping by.

Your photos are captivating! I love the Scripture verse as well. Here in Montreal we have had beautiful, comfortable temperatures as well, and the month of May has been beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring posts. God bless you.

Hi Karen! It's good to hear that the Achilles tendon is feeling better. Good idea to take things slow and easy for a while. Wow, that's a lot of rhubarb. What do you plan to do with it?
Have a good evening. See you again tomorrow!

Karen, I am so sorry to learn that your Achilles tendon has been bothering you with pain. I had that problem a few years ago and I know how painful it can be. You are so wise to give it rest.

The first picture is breathtaking. SO gorgeous!

That's quite a lot of rhubarb. Do make jam with any of it? I have a recipe for rhubarb/pineapple jam that is really tasty. Our rhubarb isn't doing so well this year.

I think you're right, that looks like buttercup. Very pretty but invasive. Rest that Achilles up and you'll be back to normal before too long.

Glad you were able to get out for a walk finally. Taking it slow was a good idea. I tried to walk yesterday but my hip objected. I did a short and very slow walk.

I'm glad you got to walk some but I'm sorry about your tendon. I have had to cut back on the length of my hikes but it sure feels good to get out. What lovely flowers and weather! Hugs!

I took a load of rhubarb to church and it went home with folks. I just get too big of a crop to deal with. Good idea to take it slow with your achilles...
