Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

Yesterday morning it was 11 degrees so I waited and took my walk
in the afternoon after church.
I'm so glad I went in the afternoon because I got to see a little miracle.
Was walking by the big long red barn and took a couple pictures
of a couple of the calves.
This one was born 12 hours ago.

This one had on a little coat.

As I was taking pictures Farmer Marvin came out of the office and said,
Hey Karen, one of the cows is starting to give birth and thought you
might like to see it.
Yes I would!!!
At first the cow would walk around and then lay down for a bit.
She did that a few times.
The legs of the calf were starting to come out a little at a time.
Then the last time she was down out came the baby calf, a heifer.
Farmer Marvin helped clean out her nose and made her sneeze.
Then Mama Cow started licking her baby clean and dry.
It was a wonderful thing to watch.
I was there about a half hour.
I guess I could have taken a video but I just wanted to watch.

๐Ÿ„    ๐Ÿฎ    ๐Ÿ„

This morning it was 18 degrees but sunny and no wind when I walked.
By the end of my walk the temperature was up to 28.

Sunrise 6:46 and my morning walk steps were 11,125.

I walked around both of the cemeteries and then stopped at the
Jeep and picked up a couple of DVD's that I then took to the library
and dropped them down the drop.

Continued walking up and down the side streets.
Went around the ball park a couple of times.

It was nice walking in the sunshine.

Bill was out on the tractor scooping up piles of grit down by the parking lot
where it had all been scooped up along with the snow.

๐Ÿ™‚    ☀️

Here it is Monday already and got started with the weekly housework once again.
I was home all day, working in the morning and having a fun
afternoon just puttering about.

Finished the latest puzzle.
Only 500 pieces this time.

Hope your Monday was a good one and thanks for stopping by.

Tomorrow I go for my stress test so please say a little prayer for me
that all goes well. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป I thank you.
It is the first thing in the morning at 7:00.

Hi Karen. I like that cloud picture and the puzzle. I don't do puzzles that are more than 500 pieces because I just have a card table that I do them on and there isn't room for more than 500 pieces. 300 piece puzzles work best on the size of table I have. Will pray for you to have a good outcome on your stress-test. I had one years ago and really it wasn't as big a deal as I feared it would be. Let us know how everything turns out. See you again tomorrow!

Oh my I would have had tears in my eyes watching the calf being born. Wow what a treat. I love cows. ๐Ÿ„ Always have. So gentle.
My goodness, it’s still cold there. Our temps have dropped to the mid 50’s. Yesterday when I walked it was low 50’s and I was wearing capris and a sweater but the breeze was freezing. I had to walk fast to warm up. Brrrrr.
It’s good you are getting this stress test. You should ace it. Is it the one on the treadmill or the induced medication stress test?

๐Ÿ™๐ŸปFather God guard Karen’s heart and mind as she undergoes this stress test tomorrow. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance for the medical team and for Karen to experience Your comfort and assurance. Thank You for being with her “every step” of the way. Amen!!

What an experience...watching a calf being born. That's something I haven't seen ( in spite of growing up on a farm).
All the best for tomorrow.
