Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Winter continues...

Winter continues here by me and again I have to get my steps
in the house this morning.

No Needleworks at the library again because of the weather.

I stayed home and sewed the weave-its together finishing the
latest baby blanket.

Just hanging around home again doing a little of this and that.

This is the latest puzzle.
Another one I like to live in.

Supper tonight was a breakfast meal.
Made pancakes.

Be A Friend
by Edgar Guest

Be a friend. You don't need money:
Just a disposition sunny;
Just the wish to help another
Get along some way or other;

Just a kindly hand extended
Out to one who's unbefriended;
Just the will to give or lend,
This will make you someone's friend.

Be a friend. You don't need glory.
Friendship is a simple story.
Pass by trifling errors blindly,
Gaze on honest effort kindly,

Cheer the youth who's bravely trying,
Pity him who's sadly sighing;
Just a little labor spend
On the duties of a friend.

Be a friend. The pay is bigger
(Though not written by a figure)
Than is earned by people clever
In what's merely self-endeavor.

You'll have friends instead of neighbors
For the profits of your labors;
You'll be richer in the end
Than a prince, if you're a friend.

That's it for today.
Happy Saturday and thanks for stopping by.

Ginny - I made the cross stitch, the hanging hearts, and the gingerbread man.  Ken made the heart blocks and the heart above tavern which is the end of a checkerboard.  Ken's mom made the quilted hearts in the square.

We woke up to snow today and Charly and I are both sick, so it was a day mostly at home for us (I had to go back to the store). I am sure looking forward to spring. I love the puzzle. Yes, it does look like a scene it would be nice to live in. We love breakfast for dinner, and I am planning to make it again soon! That is a great poem - so meaningful and true. You are a great friend. I always know that I have a friend in Accident, Maryland! See you again tomorrow!

We have a forecast that includes a chance of snow tomorrow, then again mid-week. Lots of rain around where we are, and flooding is a danger in some areas. I enjoy working jigsaw puzzles and sometimes frame them to display in the house.

Pretty puzzle photo and I love the friend poem! Hubby and I love pancakes for dinner. This winter has been awful, rain/sleet and snow every few days and colder than normal temps. I am ready for spring. Take care, have a great week!

Love the poem. Thanks for sharing that.
When my husband was alive we used to frequently have breakfast for dinner.

The snow has turned to freezing rain right now and then will change back to snow in a bit. Will be a crummy day. Made pancakes and sausage for breakfast this morning. Your puzzle is sweet. Janice

I'm playing catch-up since we made a last minute trip to Spokane on Saturday and busy on Sunday so I never got to my computer. You really are having a interesting walking winter. I'm sure it will be different next year.
