Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another Old Walk

By morning it warmed up some and was raining turning
the snow into a slushy mess so decided not to go to town to walk
but got my steps inside again.

Taking you back again in time to another place I used to take my morning walk.
Prior to living near Centennial Park we lived in Savage, Md
which is about 15 miles away.
And this was my walk.

It starts here in the park and goes along this
paved path.

There are various footbridges along the path through the woods.

The path pops out up by a school, I crossed a road and then continued
along the path and along here it is not paved and runs beside this river
for a while.

This part of the path goes under I95.

Up a ways I crossed over the Pratt Bridge.

and stop on the bridge to look over the side down into the water.

This is where I used to turn around and it is 3 miles from my house and
once again the path is paved.

🥾    🥾    🥾

Yes, I do miss walking around the lake and also this path along the river
at times, but I have another great place to walk here, so though it
is a different walk, I'm still happy to be walking here.

Don't think I'll be walking outside tomorrow either.
It turned cold, things have turned to ice and then snowed
on top of the ice.

Hope you enjoyed seeing this walk from my past.

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by.

Dianna - My cell phone is the only camera I have and I make the collages with that and then download the pictures on to my computer with bluetooth.  Makes is super easy to make collages.

Kim - No, I wouldn't take pictures along my walks if I didn't have a blog.  I started taking morning walks before blogging and never took any pictures.

For me it gets boring walking around the neighborhood day in day out. Plus pavement bothers my joints. We have 200 miles of scenic trails in Redding. I have quite a few by me but even if you drive, it doesn’t take long. I still walk the neighborhood because I think it’s good to have a presence - where neighbors I don’t know, start to recognize me. Like you when you walk in town.

I haven’t been consistent in walking - I’m not as devoted as you are. Cold rain is always an excellent excuse for me!

Hi Karen. You have been blessed with lovely places to walk and enjoy God's creation! Maryland is a beautiful state! Have you lived in any other states?

The second picture of your walk reminds me of Cathedral State Park in Aurora WV. .All of the pictures are beautiful.

Thanks for the information on how you do your collages.

Another very lovely place to walk. Sorry your weather is not the kind that you can walk in safely. Hopefully soon it will improve.

That former path was a beautiful one for sure. I imagine it was even more enjoyable in the Autumn with the leaves turning. Thanks for taking us back. Janice

Did you use the words "it warmed up"? How can I arrange some of that?

I do envy your walk along the stream and the pretty area. I have to drive closer to the Smokies to find places like that. But your walks now have cows and things which I also think is interesting.

Happy Valentine's Day.
