Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Milk Bottle Monday

It was only 11 degrees this morning and thought that was a bit chilly for walking so decided to wait until the sun came up and it was a little warmer.

While waiting I got a load of laundry washed and on the rack, read my Bible, and once Ken got up had breakfast.
Did the dishes, made the bed and at 9:15 it had warmed up to 19 so then I went to town for my walk.

The sun was shining brightly and by the time I had finished walking it was up to 29.

Didn't see anyone else out walking but there was evidence that someone was there earlier - footprints in the snow.

I had my grippers on my shoes again and stayed walking around the cemeteries and the ball park.

Some pictures I took along my way.

It was so nice walking out in the sunshine.
Steps for todays walk were 10,902

☀️    🎄    ⛄️    🙂

After lunch Ken wanted to go to Walmart to get a few things.
I knew it would be a bad idea with Christmas in two days but we went anyway.
It was a mad house and you don't find that very often up here.
To keep me from getting annoyed with people I started singing Christmas songs quietly and it worked.
Hard to be annoyed when singing. 🙂

Milk Bottles Number 11 and 12
Doing two this week because they are both kind of plain and no colored lettering on them so it is hard to read.
Both are quart bottles.
This one has D.C.S written on both sides and on the bottom of bottle it says
Property of D.C.S. Inc. St Louis MO and number 56

This one says Highland Dairies on one side
and the other says RETURN PROMPTLY
On bottom
11
E52

Debbie, one of my friends at the stitching group made a beautiful Christmas
ball for each of us.
They were all different colors and this is the one I picked out.

Well, that's going to be all for today.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit.
A happy day to you.

Beautiful snow shots. Do you ever think about how many hands have touched your milk bottles over the years and wonder whose door steps they were put on? It would be interesting to see where they have been.

You are brave to go to Wal Mart at this point! I did a big shopping trip last week and it was already crazy.

...Karen, your first image looks straight out a storybook.

The Christmas ornament is gorgeous, and so unique! Your first photo is beautiful, and looks like a postcard. It has been harder than I thought to avoid Wal-Mart this week! But we haven't gone yet. Will go to Dollar General tomorrow. Do you ever put anything in the milk bottles?

Hi Karen. You had a very snowy walk. Beautiful pictures. I love that ornament from your friend at the knitting group. How thoughtful of her to make one for everyone! Singing Christmas carols is a wonderful way to keep thinking of Jesus and not get annoyed with others. Good for you! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas week!

Blue shadows on the snow are lovely. So is that fancy ball that your friend from stitching group made. I can only imagine the time it would take to make it.
Merry Christmas to you and Ken. ☸☸☸

It looks wonderful at your place - white Christmas - so beautiful.
We had sunshine yesterday, but also rain towards the evening. But the Christmas tree is decorated and now I'm drinking a cup of coffee and then preparing the potato salad...
I wish you and yours a merry Christmas.

A cheerful greeting from Viola

Your town looks pretty in snow. I went to Walmart Saturday and it was crazy.
Years ago I made ornaments like the one you got. I have several of them hanging on my tree.

Pretty snow scenes and I love the cute cow.
We went to Wegmans yesterday we were lucky to find a parking place. The check out lines were going down the isles, there were so many people and carts everywhere. Take care, enjoy your day! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
