Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Christmas Eve walk

We got a little more snow overnight and this morning like yesterday took my walk a little later than usual at 9:00.
I wanted to wait until the snow plow came by and spread the grit on the road before leaving.

I couldn't park in the parking lot by the lake because it was getting plowed so parked across the street at the church.

It was 32 degrees with some light misty fog.

Must have walked around 10,000 steps but didn't look at my step count before I started walking so don't know exactly.

Mostly just stayed walking around the cemeteries.
Went down to see the young bulls again.

Some more pictures of snow today but this time the sun wasn't out.

Here I am in the mirror in my new warm lined hooded sweatshirt.

Again no one out walking that I saw.

🌨    🎄    ⛄️    🙂

When I got back home I made some Cocktail Meatballs for tomorrow.
Also made Pumpernickel Bread Dip. Just using the dip though and not the pumpernickel bread with it.
(Haven't put the two recipes on my other blog yet but will do it soon)
Last thing to make were the Christmas Sugar Cookies.
Made the cookies but haven't made the icing yet or iced them - will have to do that tomorrow morning.

Yesterday in the mail came an ornament that my cousin Susan made for me along with a lovely touching note that brought tears to my eyes.
The lace on the ornament was some of our gramma's.

Posting this a little earlier than usual because we are about to leave for church for the Christmas Eve service.  The service is early at 5:00 and we have to leave at 4:15.
Praying to get there safely - very foggy outside.

Happy Christmas Eve
Thanks for stopping by on this busy day.

Its Christmas Eve!
Its the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer,
we smile a little easier,
we cheer a little more.
For a couple of hours out of the whole year,
we are the people that we always hoped we would be.

Praying you made it safely to church. Our service is at 5pm today, too. We have rain and fog...no snow. That was a sweet gift from your cousin. Merry Christmas Eve and Christmas to you.

We dodged the big storm we were to have today - tomorrow it will be rainy. Today is sunny. I hope for safety on the road. Our service starts at 6pm. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Has this been our first year following each other? Your photos are so much more moody without the sun.

I hope you are safely back home now. Love the snowy scenes, but they do look cold. How precious that ornament will be!
