Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rainy Walk

It rained over night and was supposed to stop by 6:45 so didn't wear any rain clothes.
BUT that wasn't what happened and it was a dark drizzle walk the whole time.
55 degrees and pretty windy.
Sunrise 7:46

Walked up and down all the streets in town.
Then once it started to get light went around the ball park a couple of times and then up to the cemetery on the hill.

As expected didn't see anyone else out walking.

By the time I was done walking I was pretty wet.

🌧     ðŸ™‚     ☔️

Thought it was a good morning to have oatmeal for breakfast.
Sure thankful for a nice warm DRY house.
It cleared up mid morning.
We ended up with a sunny day though it was very windy.

David home again safe and sound from Hawaii.
Great to have him and Liz back home again!!

A bit too windy to go walking in the woods this afternoon so I stayed inside and knitted.

We had a London broil for supper which was marinated for hours.
It sure was good!!! and we had baked potatoes and a salad with it.

Well that's going to be it for today.
Hope you had a great Friday and thanks for stopping by,
HappyK🙂

Our rain was over around 8:00 this morning. And the temps got up in the mid 60s but it was a chilly afternoon with that breeze blowing. I'm sure you really enjoyed getting home from your walk this morning and walking into a nice dry and warm space.

We had oatmeal for breakfast this morning also!

...your early morning shots are great. You need rocks in your pockets here today so you didn't blow away!

I particularly like your second photograph.

Good that both David and Liz are home.

All the best Jan

PS Early happy birthday wishes for Ken

The church spire looks so pretty all lit up. I am amazed that you never seem to get sick with a cold or anything, what with you walking in all kinds of wet weather. But I guess all the walking really helps your immune system.

It looked just like that here when I drove to work this morning.
The steeple looks so pretty!
Glad to hear David and Liz are back at home.
Oatmeal sounds really good. I haven't had that for some time.

Hi Karen. So glad that David got back home safely. I know that you enjoy having him and Liz nearby. What a blessing for you and Ken! I admire how you walk every day - rain or shine. Have a good weekend. See you again tomorrow!

I really need to get back to walking. We were always so routine with it but once we stopped, it’s hard to get started back. I bought a walking pad to use indoors when the weather gets cold. You inspire me to want to start walking again. I sure felt better when I was doing it.

Sorry you got wet walking this morning. It was raining here too but I carried an umbrella ( and managed the whole walk which makes me so happy).

You are very dedicated to do your whole walk in the rain like that. You must have been cold all wet and only 55 degrees.
I bet the weather was disappointing to David after being in Hawaii all that time.

That church is so pretty and majestic in the darkness all lit up. A fantastic picture you took of it. Suppose to get rain for three days starting tomorrow. Homemade Turkey soup will be on the menu one of those days. I cooked up a 10 lb one a few weeks back and froze the meat for other meals. Janice

It sounds like you had quite the adventurous morning despite the weather! Walking in a drizzle can be refreshing in its own way, and those steps certainly add up—13,297 is impressive! It's lovely that you embraced the cozy atmosphere of your warm, dry home afterward with a comforting bowl of oatmeal.

How wonderful to have David and Liz back from Hawaii! The marinated London broil for dinner sounds delicious and a perfect way to celebrate their return. It’s great to see you making the most of your day indoors with some knitting. Thank you for sharing your day with us; it captures the beauty of everyday moments, rain or shine!

I just shared a new post; you are invited to read. Happy weekend!

I love your early morning pictures. The church is so beautiful. I would have wanted my umbrella on such a rainy morning.
