Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Last Pink Peep Post

This morning when I got to town and started walking it was 46 degrees, cloudy, and pretty windy.

An uneventful walk but a good one all the same.

Walked up and down the main road in town and then back down the road towards home a ways, turned around and went back to town.

Then over to the ball park and around there, and both of the cemeteries.

Didn't see anyone else out.

Morning Walk Steps 13,382

Driving home I realized I had only taken the one sky picture so took these three on my way home.
Turned off the main road here and heading to my street.

Driving up my street.

Home Again

☁️    🍁    🥾    🙂    🎃

Spent the day working outside with Ken on drainage.
Put some perforated big black pipes in a trench that Ken dug with the tractor.
Then went and got a load of gravel to put on it, and covered it all with dirt.

Last week you may remember that Pink Peep and her new friend White Peep were by the telephone waiting for a call.
The call came and it was from a friend that they both knew, Miss Chick.
Now all three of them are flying away on the back of Mrs Swan to places unknown.

Hope everyone had a great Monday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Karen, you really should think about writing children's books. Your "story" about Pink Peep, her friend White Peep and Miss Chick flying off on the back of Mrs. Swan is so sweet and full of imagination. I understand more why we are such kindred spirits in many ways.
I like your milk bottle collection that is pictured also. I had a gallon sized one, plus several other smaller ones that I passed on to our son and daughter-in-law last week when they were in.

Pink Peep and friends are migrating to warmer climates. You could write a children's book...

I will miss Pink Peep and seeing her many locations in your home. The chick with the little hat is adorable! These are gorgeous fall roads!
