Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Skunk

48 degrees this morning when I started walking at 6:20.
No breeze at first but by the time I left for home it was starting to get windy and it was sunny.

Almost had an encounter with a skunk.
Was walking along a side street in the dark when right at the edge of the street not more than a foot or two away was a skunk.
We saw each other at the same moment and I ran one way and the skunk ran the other way!!

It was my usual walk all around town up and down all the side streets, a loop around the ball park and both of the cemeteries.

This is the farm pond in back of the Drane house.

Lots of geese around and they all landed in one of the fields where the corn was cut down.
Took a picture but you couldn't really see them, they blended right in so didn't bother to post it.

No people about again this morning.

🎃     🍁     ☀️

This morning we had to go down the LaVale to the MVA because Ken had to renew his drivers license.
This it the nicest MVA I've ever been too.
Everyone is nice and there are hardly any people there, no long lines to wait on.

We were back home a little before lunch and I put a load of laundry in the washer.
A sunny day with a breeze so the clothes dried pretty quickly.

Just puttered about the house this afternoon.

Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Karen! I love that first picture - really beautiful! Wow, a MVA (it's call DMV here in Utah and in other states where we have lived) that doesn't have long lines! That is truly something to be grateful for. So glad you and the skunk avoided each other. I'll see you again tomorrow.

It's nice to hear that there are nice MVA's around. I always dread going to the DMV here so when I needed to renew my license this year, I did it online.

The picture of the farm pond back of the Drane house is so pretty. Love the pop of color with the beautiful leaves also!

That first photo is so beautiful and peaceful looking.
So glad you avoided that skunk!
So glad you found a Sec of State office with no lines and nice people. That's not easy! :)

The reflection in the pond makes a lovely picture.
Sure glad the skunk ran away and didn't spray you.
