Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Rainy Walk

Arrived in town at 6:25 and stated walking.
60 degrees and rainy.  Glad to see the rain because we really need a good soaking.

Walked up and down the main road through town and some of the side streets.
Both cemeteries and the ball park were next and a little more around town.

Didn't see anyone else out in the rain.

It was a good day to try out my new raincoat.
Got it on the big side so in the colder weather it would fit over all my layers.
The raincoat is like the ones worn by the men who work near the road, nice and bright and can be seen!!!

This morning was no little drizzle but a good down pour.

What fun walking in the pouring rain.
It just made me laugh to be out in it!!

Happy to say my new raincoat worked just great and kept me dry.
My feet were another matter - they were soaked.
I need to get some waterproof shoes.
The Keen shoes that I wear make a waterproof hiking boot which I have to get.

Baked some Snickerdoodle cookies this morning for a teen rally at church this coming Friday and Saturday.

Found those Keen waterproof hiking boots on Amazon and bought them.
They should arrive on Saturday.

Worked on the cross stitch and had a bit of trouble on a rose. Made a mistake and had to take out some stitches.  All ended well though.

Couldn't wash the sheets and put them back on the bed today.
Rain, so couldn't hang them outside and they wouldn't dry in time in side without the heat on.
So just took a clean set out of the closet this week.  We'll miss the sheets smelling like outside this time.

Took this picture from the front porch on Friday I think it was but forgot to publish it so doing that now.

Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Others just get wet.

Hi Karen. I enjoy rainy days. I love the picture from your front porch. You live in a lovely setting! So glad that Keene makes a good waterproof hiking boot for you to wear when you walk. Good footwear is so important. Have a good evening and I will see you tomorrow!

I've always appreciated Bob Marley, and I like his quote.
I'm so jealous of your rain. It all looks so lovely and cozy. The view off your porch is nice; no wonder you sit there in the afternoons.

Oh, you live in kind of a wooded area. Out in the country for sure. I love the raincoat!! Especially the color, as it can get dark when raining and now you will be seen!

That view from your porch would be nice to have all the time..in all types of weather and seasons. I used to love to pick apples in the rain...

Good for you finding waterproof shoes. I don't mind walking in rain but I really don't like wet feet. I'm glad your raincoat kept the rest of you dry. Hopefully you'll have sunshine tomorrow.
