Planned on going to town and walking.
All dressed and ready to go but when I opened the garage door and walked
outside it was snowing and slippery so I didn't bother driving to town.
Went inside and once again got my steps for the day inside.
Picture taken from the side bedroom window.
Got some housework done.
Not working on the puzzle very much but did do a little more today.
Baked chocolate chip cookies.
Ken has invited people to an open house on Saturday to see his train layout.
Every time people come to see it I bake cookies for them.
Supposed to get more snow on Saturday so it may have to be cancelled
till the following week.
I'm going to do a series on my FiestaWare dishes.
Haven't bought any in 15 years or so.
Sandi asked where I found the dishes.
At auctions and antiques stores.
Starting it off today with the tea cups and saucers.
Fiestaware first appeared at the 1936 Glass Show in Pittsburgh.
Red/orange, green, ivory, blue, and yellow were first.
A year later the turquoise color was added.
The tea cups cost only 25 cents and then in 1956 the price was raised to 65 cents.
That's all I have for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Thursday

...saucers are somewhat easy to find and they are often $5 each!
How fun it would be to see Ken's train layout in person and also be treated to your homemade cookies. You two are a talented pair.
I love the colorful FiestaWare. I had some in peach and blue when I lived in Michigan. Those were the colors I decorated with then. I don't remember what I did with them, but I no longer have them.
I hope the weather cooperates so you can have the open house on Saturday. Hopefully we won't get all that is predicted.
Your tea cups are pretty. I especially like the original yellow and blue colors.
I’d love to tag along to see Ken’s train layout. I hope it doesn’t have to be cancelled. Regarding the Fiestaware - it is hard for me to pick just one color. I like them all and they look nice mixed together.
I hope the weather improves and you will be able to have Kens Open House on Saturday.
I like your tea cups and saucers.
All the best Jan
The nice thing about the cookies you're making is that if the open house has to be postponed you can freeze them. Your Fiesta Ware cups and saucers are very bright and colourful ❤ Imagine finding them now at those prices.
I love those colorful cups and saucers. You have a great collection. So nice of you to make cookies for Ken's train open house. Have a good Friday. See you again soon!
Your snow looks beautiful..Here in Texas, we get very little snow. I have always admired the fiesta ware. I think the colors look so good and cheery. Just can't beat fresh cookies...Hope you have a Blessed weekend.
Those are the cutest little tea cups and saucers.
The snow looks so relaxing.

My cousin collects Fiestaware and when I go to visit her she lets me set the table for our meals. It's so fun to mix and match colors and make the table look pretty!
We are expecting some snow this weekend. Nothing here yet.
I love the pretty and colorful tea cups and saucers.
Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
How fun to have an open house to show the train layout.
Love those happy colors on the Fiestaware. I can't imagine paying only .25 cents for a tea cup. I wonder what one would go for these days.
Those people get to see the train and get your cookies! What a nice thing to do!
The fiesta ware I have is the blue and I also have some red.
"Mother Nature had different plans for my town outing – opened the garage to a snowy surprise! No worries though, adapted my steps indoors and enjoyed the cozy view from my side bedroom window."

My uncle was a long-time train collector. Every time we would visit him, he would proudly show us his train room and all the updates since the last time we saw it.
An open house sounds fun!
Stay cozy this weekend :)
I love your fiesta ware and wish now I had bought some over the years. I don't shop much any more but I used to see a few pieces at the thrift stores. You have such a beautiful home! Hope it's better weather for your walks in the next few days! Hugs!
Wow only 25 cents and then 65 cents. You have a nice collection. The open house to see the train layout sounds like fun. Nice to offer cookies, too. Snowmageddon is in the forecast for us in the next week so we'll be doing a little shopping to fill up the pantry.
Hi Karen! Oh, I love your FiestaWare! It's wonderful! Wow! Those prices! Happy New Year!
