Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Not so pretty

Lots of the snow melting now and I'm pretty sure by
Saturday town will be good for walking again.
Till then I'll keep getting my steps in around the house.

We went to the library just before lunch to pick up a couple of books,
a few DVD's, and Ken had to get a some copies made.
We don't have a printer so use the one at the library.

The pretty white snow has now turned into a dirty mess.

It is supposed to be raining but so far it's just been cloudy.
If it does rain it will surely help clean things up a bit.

Didn't do much today except read a book.
Was going to just read for a little while and ended up finishing the book.

Hope your Wednesday was a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Granny - No, worries about the melting snow running in the garage.  We have very good drainage.

...we had a messy, rainy day. Watch only for ice!

The snow that looks so pristine soon turns into a yucky gray mess. I'm glad ours is fast disappearing and I hope yours does likewise.

I don't know how it turns into a yucky mess. Is it mud and dirty or exhaust from cars?

It's looking much the same here - supposed to hit 40 here tomorrow.
Glad you can soon walk in town again!

Strange how the beautiful land scape turns nasty. But it always has. Keep on Keeping on and stay warm.
We hit the road again soon.......
You take care of yourself.

I'm just getting to blog reading later in the evening this evening and it is currently raining here now. We went to Morgantown today and once we got to the other side of Cooper's Rock, there was hardly any snow at all. This rain will definitely help to get rid of a lot of our snow.

Glad you had a day of enjoyable reading. We all need those days now and then.

Snow can go from looking beautiful to looking awful so quickly. We have big piles of black snow in the store parking lots.

Hi Karen. Our snow has been melting too, but we may get a little more tonight. I hope you have a good Thursday!

A day just reading sounds good to me but you will have been glad to get out and about for a bit, even if just to the library.

This time of year things can turn to an ugly mess. We've had he rain so everything is melting off pretty quick.

The dirty snow along the sides of the roads is not a pretty sight.
We see a lot here too. We spent Wednesday with our grandsons, it was a fun day. Take care, have a great day!

Yes, pretty snow can turn ugly fast! We've been getting a lot of rain here lately and it's taking care of the snow pretty quickly!

We are in the slushy dirty faze of snow right now. We've had some steady rain for a couple days here. The library is such a great resource!

Yeah I love fresh fallen snow and then it gets ugly here to. Janice
