Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Marilyn

Was in town and starting walking at 6:20 this morning and sunrise was not long after at 6:28. It was cloudy and very still.
A wild turkey flew over the road just in front of me as I drove to town.

Walked up and down the roads in town, both cemeteries, the ball park and partly down the road toward home and back to town again.

There used to be three trees in front of the Drane house but the middle one came down in one of the latest storms and now there are just two.
Thankfully it didn't fall on the house.
You can see the stump between the two remaining trees.

Saw a couple of deer cross the road.
They were very careful crossing and looked both ways before sauntering across.

John was out walking Prim.

I like this house that I pass by most days.
The entryway gives the simple house a bit of character and I love the flowers.

Got a bit of house cleaning done.
There were a few rain showers so couldn't do the laundry.

Late afternoon David and Liz came by and we played a couple of game of
Chinese Checkers.

I've just finished reading a very good book about Marilyn Monroe called
The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe by J Randy Taraborrelli.
It was a huge book with just over 900 pages (large print addition).
I thought the author did a great job of separating rumors and myths from the truth and it was a book hard to put down.
Marilyn had such a short, sad, and tragic life.
Ken read it and liked it too!!

Happy Monday

This button reminds me of an alien face.

I like the front of that house. I like the little curve to the over door thing that they got going on.

Yes! An alien face was the first thing I thought of when I saw this button! Chinese Checkers is an oldie but goodie.

I have a biography of Marilyn Monroe that was written by her sister. I haven't read it yet, but Marilyn Monroe was an interesting yet very tragic figure for sure. So glad you liked the book. Chinese Checkers with David and Liz sounds like fun! See you again tomorrow.

Definitely an alien face.
I haven't played chinese checkers in ages. I probably wouldn't even know how any more.

Hello,
Pretty flowers! The last storm here took down a lot of trees, it was scary.
Love the cute house. Take care, enjoy your day!

That house is quirky and has character :) I love biographies. I might have to read that one on Marilyn. I really don't know much about her.

That is a cute house. It looks well taken care of.
I have never thought of reading a book about Marilyn Monroe. I'll bet it was interesting and nice that the author was able to separate out the rumors.

Enjoyed this post. I really like the front of that house too. It looks like a house from a storybook or nursery rhyme.

I used to play Chinese Checkers as a kid. I should try it again.

That house is cute and I'd play it up more with color and continue with the quirkiness of it. Definitely unique.
