Raining when I first got up but by the time I drove to town it had stopped.
It was cloudy and breezy so at 68 degrees kept it nice and cool when I walked this morning.
Started my walk at 6:25 and a few minutes later at 6:29 the sun rose.
Walked all over town, both cemeteries, and the ball park.
Saw Rebecca out walking and John was out with Prim too.
Looks like I was wrong about the new houses being two stories.
The trusses were being delivered and they were just starting to put them up.
Will have a picture tomorrow of the trusses up.

We only needed a few things at the Shop and Save so we were back right quick.
This afternoon we went to the library in town to return the Marilyn Monroe book.
Our library had to get a copy of the book from a Pennsylvania library!!
It was so heavy I didn't want to drop in down the slot when I walked.
Also had a couple of books to pick up that were on hold and Ken picked out a few DVD's for our evening viewing for the next couple of weeks.
I read the Honey Bunch books when I was a little girl and I have collected most of them over the years in antique shops and flea markets.
The series has 32 books written 1923 to 1954.
I have just reread two of them.
Honey Bunch Her First Little Pet Show (Number 27)
Her First Visit to the City. (Number 2)
Fun to read the books all these many years later.
They are pretty good stories and I love all the details of life back when you still got dressed up to go out shopping and visiting.
When people were polite and had manners.
I don't have all the books but do have have 2 - 27.
The books were written under the pseudonym name of Helen Louise Thorndyke.
Books 1 - 16 were actually written by Josephine Lawrence and Mildred Wirt Benson wrote the rest of the books.
Benson also wrote many of the Nancy Drew books which I have a collection of also.

I never heard of the Honey Bunch books. I've lost my library card so I'll stop in tomorrow to get a new one. As soon as I do that I'll find the old one! Pretty buttons.
I never heard of Honey Bunch books, but I really use to enjoy reading Nancy Drew when I was little. I think it is so cool that you have a collection of your favorite books from childhood. See you again tomorrow!

I've never heard of the book series. You've got a nice collection even if not complete. I do miss a time when people dressed up to go shopping though. I cringe every time I see people shopping in their pajamas.
The Honey Bunch series is new to me.

I never heard of the Honeybunch books. I bet I would like them because I think I read about every Nancy Drew book there was. :)
I have the Litle House on the Prairie book collection which I read when I was younger. Also Donna Parker series although I only have a few of those that I got on Ebay about 15 years ago.
What a wonderful collection of Honey Bunch books you have. I had a few of them, but parted with them when I moved. I sometimes regret that decision. I agree with you that it is refreshing to read about a kinder, gentler time. I didn't know all about the different authors. Interesting.
I'm pretty positive I love to live in a time when folks got dressed up to go shopping:) Would be so pleasant for everyone! I am just amazed at all the steps you get in each day! WOW:)
