Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Church Bells

😊 Thank you all for the anniversary wishes. 😊

It rained last night, turned colder, and then snowed.
Wasn't sure if walking in town would be slippery so walked
the first couple of miles in the basement.

We went out to Casselmans Market in Grantsville.
Needed just a few things so we were in and out lickity split.
Only a couple other people where shopping at the time.

Before coming back home we drove through town so I could see
the conditions for walking.
Looked pretty good so after putting away the few things
when we got home I got into my walking clothes and went to town.
By this time it was 29 degrees and snowing.
Since I walked some in the basement only had 4 miles left to walk.

Walked around the one cemetery a couple of times.
It may look slippery but it was just snow.

Walked around the ball park a few times as well.

Yes, if you were going to ask,
those are my footsteps.

Walked up and down the main street in town too.
It was 12:00 noon has I approached the church and I got to
hear the bells of the church.
Here's a short video so you can hear them too.

Thought maybe I'd see someone else out walking because it was
a different time than I usually walk, but didn't see anyone.

🌨    πŸ₯Ύ    😊

Last night we watched the movie Saving Mr Banks on DVD
that we got at the library.
We really enjoyed it.
I never read the Mary Poppins books so I'm planning on reading them now.
There are 8 books.
The first five books were published in
1934, 1935, 1943, 1952, and 1952.
The last three were in
1975, 1982, and 1988.

This afternoon found me doing my usual things.
Reading
Knitting
Making a couple of Weave-its

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Tuesday

Hi Karen. I have never seen the movie and had no idea that there were Mary Poppins books! I certainly learned something in this visit. So glad you could walk outside today. It has been so bitter cold that Charly and I haven't walked outside since Saturday, but I am hoping that it warms up and we can walk tomorrow. See you again soon!

My daughter has a church near her that rings bells at 9, noon, 3 and 6 during the day. I love hearing them.

Love hearing the bells and your voice, too. That's a lovely melody they play. Glad you could get out in the fresh air. That's interesting info on the Mary Poppins books. Never thought to look those up.

I love hearing church bells. When I used to use my alarm I woke to church bells. No alarm needed any more though.

When I walk in the downtown area along the seawall...on the bluff, a line of churches...bells ring/chime the hour. It's beautiful.
