Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Paint Splattered

58 degrees, calm, and lots of sunshine walking this morning.
(by the end of my walk it was 64 degrees)

Walked all around town and through it to the curve in the road where
I turned around.
Made a few extra turns around the ball park loop because
most of it is in the shade.

I saw Joy walking but I was leaving the parking lot when she
walked by so just gave her a wave.
She was the only person I saw.

Pretty flowers I got to see along my walk.

I thought these petunias were most unusual and so pretty.
Look like they are paint spattered.

Looks like this vehicle was in a demolition derby.

Walked 6 miles

☀️    🥾    🌺

We made a quick trip to the Dollar General for a few things.

Ken went outside and took apart the stone BBQ that he made.
He was never happy with it and is now building another one in a different place.
The patio swing will be moved to where the BBQ used to be.
Once completed there will be pictures.

While he was outside doing that I was inside making salads.
Sweet and Sour Cucumber Salad and

There was way too much salad for the two of us so we
invited David and Liz over for supper to help us eat the salads
and hotdogs.

Worked some more on the baby blanket and I'm sure it will
be done in two days time.

Most days I spend late afternoon sitting on the porch
reading and did that again today.

Life is Good
A happy day to you.🤗
Thanks for stopping by.

GrannyM - The Mennonites here wear long skirts or dresses and the married women wear white caps. Yes, there is an Amish community here.

Nellie - No, it hasn't been very hot here, just nice spring like days.

Ann - I'm with you! I also dislike shopping at Walmart!

...I've never been able to understand auto racing and demolition derbies, but now with the price of gas they seem ridiculous.

Moving the stone BBQ must have been quite a job.
When I first saw those Petunias I thought they had some disease. I'm still not sure how I feel about them. Pretty but not in my pots maybe.
Thanks for answering my question about the Mennonites in your area.

I have never, ever seen flowers like these Petunias! They must be a new variety!

Pretty petunias.

Your weather sounds perfect.

I had some petunias like those one year. I always thought they looked as if dappled light was on them. Maybe making the church fire pit made Ken rethink the old fire pit at your house. That car had something awful happen to it.

It looks like such a pretty day. It was overcast here, but still nice.
Moving that BBQ sounds like a big job, but I know it will be nice when it's done.

Ken is very ambitious! Moving that BBQ isn’t easy work! I like those petunias!

I am amazed at how much you fit into one day. Like Tom, I have never understood demolition derbies.

Such pretty flowers. You really have such a beautiful place for your morning walks.
I'm going to guess that the vehicle in the picture was not a winner.

Hi Karen. I love the pictures of the flowers. Your dinner sounds so good, especially the salads. Ken is always busy improving your place. I am sure you will enjoy the new barbeque. So nice you could have David and Liz join you for dinner. Have a good Sunday. See you again soon. :-)

Did I already say we're getting our first Dollar General here? That flower collage is beautiful and I like those paint spattered petunias. Happy Sunday to you!

I remember when demolition derbies were televised on Saturdays. Looks like a nice day.

I'm sure the driver of that car had a wonderful day. We took our boys to watch banger racing once, we all sat on the bonnet of our landrover to watch and it was exciting if noisy and nobody got hurt. Love seeing all the different flowers, have seen the spotty petunias before but was never tempted when I had hanging baskets at the farm. Sure wish our family was close enough to drop in for a meal and your menu sounds delicious.

I love the purple petunias. Made me think of purple spotted cows.
