Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Mother/Daughter Luncheon

I woke up at 6:55 and it was raining hard.
Was going to get up and then the next thing I knew it was 6:45.
It was 40 degrees, raining and windy.
Just didn't feel like walking in the cold rain and though it doesn't
happen often I took the day off from walking.

I finished the baby blanket for May.

Today was the Mother/Daughter luncheon and I picked up Liz
at 11:00 and off we went to the church.

We had a lovely time.
Took a quiz
Played a couple of games
Watched a little skit
A devotional was given
And we ate.

Our own daughter hasn't spoken to us in over 9 years now,
so it was especially nice that Liz wanted to go with me.
She is pretty inside and out and is such a blessing to us.

At home this afternoon I did some reading and knitting.
Made pizza dough in the bread machine and as
usual Ken made the pizza that we had for supper.

That's all I've got for today.
A happy day to you. 🤗
Thanks for stopping by.

Glad you got to go to the luncheon and thankful you have Liz.
I'm sorry about your daughter. Our children can be the source of the greatest joy and greatest sorrow too. I've also had both.

I am so sorry about your daughter. Maybe someday that fence will be mended. I'm glad that you had Liz to go to the luncheon with you. I love your baby blankets, such a wonderful gift it will be. You posted on my blog that your parents lived in Indian Lake... my husband and I grew up in Newcomb. What a small world it is!

That's a long time for her to hold a grudge. Liz really is lovely. I am very glad that you had a good time together at the Mother's Day Luncheon. A quiz? Was it about knowing the other person? How Mother's Day began? I am trying to imagine.

Happy to hear about your great time at the Mother's Day event at church today. Sweet that you have a good relationship with Liz. I will pray for reconciliation between your daughter and you. You aren't alone...

Hi Karen. Yes, Liz is truly a blessing to you. Children not speaking to their parents is becoming more and more common, which is so very sad. As you know, you are not the only good parents dealing with this. Happy Mother's Day to you. You truly deserve it.

That's a shame about your own daughter, but life is as it is. I think at some time in everyone's family there is one! Liz is a pretty gal!!

Love the blanket!!!

I remember.... Bits.... About you being estranged from your daughter.

I'm a little "estranged" from our daughter, myself. Not totally. Just..... A long story, of course.

What a Joy, your daughter in law must be. And she is as pretty, as she is a Wonderful Part of Your Life. So nice to seeee her.

And btw, interestingly, my next door daughter in law is such a Joy to me/us, too!!!!! We "call her" our daughter. :-)

As others have already said it must be a bitter sweet day for you. A blessing that Liz has become a lovely member of your family and that they live so close by. It makes me sad at times that our boys are so far away.

I'm so glad you have Liz ( and David) living close by. So good that Liz accompanied you to the Mother/daughter luncheon and that you enjoyed your time there. We also have a somewhat similar situation in our family and it's difficult.

I'm sorry about your daughter. I wondered because you never mention her but I was afraid to ask. I can't imagine my mother doing anything that would have caused me to stop talking to her. I'm so glad you have Liz! She is a doll and a blessing too!
