The return of winter

Most of you know about the Drane house in town
but for those who don't if you click on the Page that says
Around Town
under the header you can learn all about it.

🌨    🌨

Winter has returned today.
It was 18 degrees, snowing and very windy this morning.
So it was an inside walk for me today.
The temperature dropped during the day to 12.
Not a whole of snow - 4 inches.

This is looking out the basement door at 6:45 this morning.

Another Train Layout picture.
Ever get stuck behind a slow moving tractor? 🚜

We waited till the snow plow had come by and the snow
mostly stopped and then went to church to finish cutting
the Romans books from yesterday.

Stopped at the auto store first to pick up some hydraulic oil for the cutter.
The oil didn't seem to make much difference, so the cutter is still not right.
Made it hard to get all the books cut but we did it.
We worked from 12:30 to 5:30.

Top left - all the books we had to cut.
Top right - the cutter
Bottom - cut and put in boxes.  Each box contains 420 books.
Yesterday and today we cut just about 10,000 books.
(The cutter cuts 7 at a time)

On the way home we stopped at Brenda's and got one of those
Take and Bake pizza to bring home for supper.

Now it's time to sit back and relax and enjoy the evening.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
A happy Saturday to you. 😊

That is a serious cutter! Pretty amazing that it does 7 books at a time. Love Ken's tractor scene. Showed my hubby who is a tractor-loving guy. We both had a laugh! The snow is beautiful, but I'm sure it disappointed you that you had to walk inside. Hope you have a relaxing evening after all that hard work. Take care.

Yes, winter was pretty tricky today allup and down the Eastern seaboard. The wind was vile. It almost made me forget changing the clocks. I love that scene with the tractor holding up traffic. 😁

That is a LOT of books!

That snow looks so pretty...but I am ready for it to be gone till next winter.

Yes, have been behind slow moving tractors...also spent lots of time waiting for a train to pass. Terre Haute has a lot of train tracks. They finally built a couple overpasses that help. But one can still spend some serious time waiting on a train to move/pass.

That cutter sure is impressive and so is the number of books you managed to get done. Good job. Stay safe and warm.

Yes!! Behind tractors and oftentimes behind farming machinery when I drive thru the ranch land. That's a lot of books!!!! How often does your church produce them...like, once a month?

Pizza...good.
Snow, bad.
Relaxing for the evening, priceless.

Hello,
We had the same amount of snow, around 4 inches. I have been stuck behind the farm tractors many times, Ken's train lay-out is amazing. 10,000 books seems like a lot to me, well done. Take care, enjoy your day and have a happy new week!

People here are impatient when they are behind a tractor. They have to pass it but sometimes that can take awhile.

The snow is lovely.

Wo had a bunch of snow this morning too.
I live in an area with farmers, and have been caught behind a slow tractor. I'm patient with them though, as my Dad was a farmer. :)
I looked up the Drane house - we would love to visit it!

That's a lot of books for sure. Glad you were able to get so much done without the cutter working properly. Hello to your new snow. We are having rain.
