Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A snowy day

 No walking outside today.
We have lots of snow with VERY windy conditions
so all my walking was done in the basement - all 6 miles in three sessions.

It snowed all day and with the wind making drifts it didn't make much sense
to go out and clear the driveway.
So that will be tomorrows job - will probably take us all day.

These pictures were taken at 2 this afternoon so the drift is even
bigger now!
A drift outside the back door.

Looking out the front door.

Looking out the window onto the porch.

Took the jigsaw puzzle apart and got the dining room table
back to normal.
Looked around the house to see what I could use for a center piece
and came up with this.

That only lasted one day because today decided to start
another jigsaw puzzle.  This is one we've had a while and it's
been done a couple of times but I like the picture and it's a fun one to do.

Got some reading done, knitted and spent lot of time
looking at the window watching the snow.

That's been my day.
Hope your Monday has been a happy one. 😊

...it was cold, snowy and beautiful today, but filling the bird feeder was my only outdoor activity for the day.

Love your old box. I'm old enough to remember things coming in wooden boxes. Mom used to buy Velveeta Cheese in a wooden box, I remember because it's the box I used for my crayons :)
I am so impressed that you did 6 miles in your basement . . . that was walking in a lot of circles. I'm proud of your determination for fitness. Tomorrow you'll get plenty of exercise shoveling all that snow. Stay warm sweet friend.

You probably know that some sort of seafood came in the box. πŸ™‚ It snowed most of the day here as well. I had to get out and help the plowman. Took me awhile and came in soaking wet because the snow turned to rain in the end. What a mess! It's going to be a frozen nightmare. Your new puzzle does look like a fun one!

Wow! That's a lot of snow. I'm glad you have the basement to walk in, we stayed inside because of the blustery conditions. I was 60 degrees but way too windy to go out in the forest. Take care and enjoy your evening!

I went to get the papers and came back in. My workplace was closed for the day regardless.

That is a lot of snow. Oh yes, the amazement of it! I love watching the falling of snow. Our snow melted a lot today. I even hung our sheets outside to dry.

Wow, you have a lot of snow! Almost all of our snow is gone and none in the forecast for the rest of January. I love that cute centerpiece. I have plans to get a puzzle underway this week too. See you again soon.

Snow is an amazement. Really, fluffy white water. God is an artist.

Well, you got a good dump of snow. Good idea to wait until the snowdrifts stop to clear the driveway. I liked your centerpiece. The new puzzle looks fun.

Cute puzzle. I have seen that one in catalogs. I am working on a 1000 piece puzzle as well. It is a Christmas themed puzzle that I didn’t have time to finish in December, but the picture has a lot of snow - so now I have decided it is a snow puzzle. :-)

Hello,

You did have a lot of snow there, we had a couple of inches. It was heavy, wet and slushy. Nice puzzle. Take care, have a happy day!

You got the full brunt, wind and all. No wind here, for which I am glad.

But ice covered snow! Ugh. Plow and skate.

Oh well, the snow is so pretty, and no big drifts. -smile-

Lots of snow at your house. We don't have quite that much left today. More coming, of course. Have fun doing your puzzle. xo Diana

What you have shown for Monday is what we are having on Tuesday. I'm thankful for a warm home and plenty of food.

Wow, that is a big snowdrift outside your back door. We got quite a bit on Sunday, but it pales in comparison to yours.
The centerpiece was cute while it lasted. That does look like a fun puzzle.
Just wanted to share how you provided inspiration today with your basement walking. Each day I wear my Apple watch and work towards getting in more steps as I work from home. Ideally I would like to get the ideal 10,000 steps per day. I haven't been hitting that mark for awhile. Today while reading how you accomplished your 6 miles in three sessions I looked at my steps/miles for the day and saw that I was just over 1.5 miles. I told myself that I couldn't read the rest of your post until I got to 2 miles. I've now read your entire post and feel better about myself for reaching that small goal. I plan to work a few more of these sessions into the day and I WILL be going to bed tonight with 10,000 steps. I thank you for being my secret personal trainer :).
