Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

Back to a warm morning for walking.
51 this time with a mix of sun and clouds once it was light out.
Warm but very windy!!
Sunrise 7:32

A nice walk all around town, the ball park and both cemeteries.

Was hoping to see Joy to thank her for the note and gift
but we must have been walking at different times or in different places
because we didn't run into each other.

Saw Rebecca walking Leo off in the distance.

Pretty quiet around town this early Thursday morning.
Walked 6 miles

A different kind of snowman today - not blow up ones but a metal one.

⛄️    ⛄️    ⛄️

Did the usual every day chores around the house.

It was Blankets for Babies day at church but I didn't go this time.
I'll bring my 2 blankets next month.
Today one of the ladies was going to bring lunch
and everyone else was bringing Christmas goodies to share
but I don't feel comfortable doing that so decided to pass.

This afternoon I made some Forgotten Cookies (meringue)
but made them bite sized, left out the chocolate chips
and made them in different colors.
I call them Meringue Bites.

Went outside but it was so windy I only stayed out for a little while.

This evening for supper I made Stuffed Pepper Soup
and had some whole wheat bread to go with it.
The recipe is quite large and I made the whole thing.
There's enough to feed an army!!
Nice to have a lot to freeze though.

Hope your Thursday was a happy one. πŸ™‚
Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Eve!
Its the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer,
we smile a little easier,
we cheer a little more.
For a couple of hours out of the whole year,
we are the people that we always hoped we would be.

...Bill Murray pretty well summed things up!

I had a happy Thursday. Best thing: It's raining like crazy here in the So. Cal. mountains, where we've been in an exceptional, worst case drought for some time. So rain after snow, not the prettiest, but I'm happy. Your soup sounds so good and your walks are always inspiring. But too muddy for me to walk for a few days now.

Hi Karen - We still go to events where food is being served. I have gone out with friends a few times, but we did not go to our church Christmas dinner this year and I did not go to our teacher Christmas luncheon earlier this week. Like you, we are just not comfortable with it still. That soup sounds really good. The cookies look good too. Hope you have a good Friday. See you tomorrow.

It was warmer here today too but tonight it's much colder again.
That soup sounds really good!

That soup sounds delicious...the cookies are almost to pretty to eat, and I like the snowmen.

I have given up stuffed peppers for stuffed cabbages (halipukis) in my crockpot, so tasty! Lovely and thoughtful gift from Joy♥ Another productive day for you, Karen!

I like those snowmen, but I really don't care for the big blow-up kind. Your little candies are pretty. We have had lots of those windy days lately.

Your soup sounds good. I love big pots of soup so that I can freeze some for when I don't feel like cooking. I'm with you... we haven't been out to eat since the beginning of all of this. Our "eating out" adventures consist of us picking up food thru a drive thru and going to the beach to sit in the car and eat it!

Dan said today that I should enjoy summer in winter while it lasts. I don’t know what’s going on with all the wind. If it weren’t so late I would make some forgotten cookies right now.

Stuffed pepper soup sounds scrumptious.
Those snowmen are adorable. Much better than those you see all around (The balloons)
Enjoy those cookies. Great idea making them so colorful. Oh, and the shadows in that first photo are classic...very well composed photo!!!

The soup sounds tasty and the colourful meringue cookies are so cute. I tried making meringue cookies this week but the turned out too flat. Don't know what went wrong ( but my guys ate them anyway).

Looks positively balmy in your corner. You're staying busy as always. I like the metal snowmen much better than the blow-up balloon variety, though I know that all snowmen bring joy.
