Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

25 degrees this morning when I got to town for my walk.
Got there a little later than usual at 7:00.
Just a slight breeze and once the sun rose there were
no clouds in the way so had a sunny walk.

Walked through town and over to the industrial park
and walked around there.
You can see the sun starting to make its presence known there on the left.

Walked over to the ball park and walked around there a couple of times
and then headed up to the cemetery on top of the hill.

Went down to see the bulls and the horses.
I put my hand out by the bulls and one of them gave me a sniff
and then licked my hand.

Farmer Marvin had put manure down on the fields so it was a bit
smelly walking near them.
A big pile of manure was down by the barn and you can see
the steam coming off it.

One of the bus drivers who waves to me was parked and sweeping
out her bus and I stopped to talk.
She told me that 6 of her husbands friends have died of Covid
and they all had the vaccine.

Didn't see anyone else out walking on this beautiful morning
but did see 3 deer and 2 rabbits and lots of geese.

Walked 6 miles

☀️    🙂    ☀️

Snowman are very popular around town
Here's another one.
I've been taking pictures of all the ones I see

⛄️    ⛄️    ⛄️

Started the day off after breakfast getting some house work done.

Wasn't planning on doing another jigsaw puzzle before Christmas
but we got another one started today.
It's a 1000 piece barn scene.

We went out walking around Happy Trails this afternoon.
Lots of limbs and a couple of small dead trees came down in all the wind.
So we added them to the natural fence.

Supper this evening was Potato Cheese Soup.
I used the same recipe as the Broccoli Cheese Soup but used potatoes
instead of the broccoli.
Still had some of the Whole Wheat Bread that I made in the freezer
so we had that with it.

This evening I'll be finishing up the baby blanket for December.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Monday to you. 🙂

One thing we never seem to outgrow is our love of the Christmas season
and all the memories it brings --
the excitement of wide-eyed children, crackling fires, and twinkling lights;
the special time spent with our families
baking cookies, choosing the tree, wrapping presents,
and celebrating the greatest gift of all --
the Savior's birth.

Thanks for stopping by Diane in northern Wisconsin.  Went to check out your blog but saw that it was private.

Covid is sure taking a toll. Still very unsettling. We had potato cheese soup last week and it sure was good. Have a great Tuesday and I will see then!

I like the barn view.

It looks like the same kind of day we had here, but I was inside. And then Roger had a late evening dr's appt...

That is one big pile of manure, but oh, it will be so good for the ground.

...that's quite a backlog of manure to spread!

Another Monday with blue skies for wash day. Clouds began to build here shortly after noon, but not before the sheets were already dry.

Covid seems to be a constant companion. We still wear our masks when in stores and enclosed spaces and we got our shots and the booster. You just do the best you can - follow the guidelines - and keep your fingers crossed. We haven’t lost anyone in our family friends circle.

It's fun to read your blog. I don't have one so I enjoy reading other people's blogs. I'm wondering where you're located? Your temp seems about like ours except we have a ton of snow. Your soup and homemade bread sound perfect! Sorry to hear about the six people who died of covid. That virus continues to take a terrible toll. Take good care!

Wow 6 of her husband's friends have died of Covid? We're fully vaxxed but that doesn't give me much confidence in the vaccine. Our nephew's wife is hospitalized with Covid. She was not vaxxed, so she needed to be intubated this weekend. It's not looking too good at the moment. At this point it's all up to God.

Beautiful walk!! We used to say the odor from the cattle was the smell of money. 😄. And always loved the soft tongue licking me.
Cute snowman.

I have wholemeal bread in the oven - rye with sourdough - and this lunchtime there will be potatoes, spinach and salmon ... I really like to eat :-)
Unfortunately we have rain today, but I also take a tour outside through the forest ... on the 3rd Advent we had snow and blue skies, it was heavenly outside.
Much fun for you on your tours in the fresh air ... enjoy.
Many happy advent greetings to you. Viola
p.s. the christmas lights are so wonderful now in the evening ... here there are many fir trees decorated with lights in the gardens, big stars in the entrance doors and arcs of light in the windows ... wonderful.
The giant snowman you are showing is a happy fellow

I especially like the snowman's hat. It reminds me of what little boys wore when I was a kid. He is a happy sight.
Your dinner sounds delicious. I am going to check out the recipes now.

Soup is so easy to make and usually very tasty too. I hardly ever use a recipe any more, just vary the ingredients.
You saw way more wildlife on your walk than I did. I saw one bunny, a squirrel and then the usual birds and water fowl. Still it's nice to see them. Mild temps here today with no wind or rain!
