Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Uniontown, Pa

36 degrees and cloudy this morning for walking.
Pretty windy too.
I walked 6 miles.

Walked up and down the streets in town and over to the
industrial park and walked around there.
Once around the ball park and back to the jeep.

Every year the town puts up Christmas decorations
along the main road on the telephone poles
and they were all up this morning.
Each day I'll post one of them.
Today is a Christmas tree

I didn't see anyone else out walking this morning.

That old house that had the growing vegetation cleared away
from it might just be getting a renovation!
Yesterday I saw someone upstairs by a window and today
I noticed all the broken window panes have been fixed or
boarded up so nothing is open to the weather now.
I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Would be great if it could be fixed up again!!

It was mostly cloudy walking but the sun peaked out for a few
minutes and then it got dark and looked like rain.
A block away from the Jeep and it started raining
and when I got home it had turned into little frozen balls of snow.
Happy to say it didn't last more than 10 minutes.

Thought I'd end the bench series of pictures with my own
three benches in the house.

Ken made this one back in 1991

This one came from an auction that we got for just $1.

And this last one was my mothers.

🦃    🦃

We went to Hobby Lobby and Home Depot in Uniontown today.
Picked up a couple of Poinsettia plants,
one for me and one for Liz.
Also bought my Christmas cards for this year.
Don't send many out but still do like to give out some.

While in Uniontown we went through the drive thru at Wendy's
and got spicy chicken sandwiches for lunch.

Nice to get out and go somewhere besides food shopping!!
The sun made it out and we had a very nice day though
it was windy and the temperature dropped during the day.

This afternoon I read and started knitting again on the
white blanket that I started quite a while ago.
It is baby sized blanket and not sure what I'll do with it.

That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your day was a happy one. 🙂

Forgot to mention gloves when posted about all the layers I wear when walking and a couple of people asked about them. I don't wear gloves or mittens - they actually make my hands cold. I tuck my hands up inside my sleeves and that keeps my hands nice and toasty.  The only time my hands get cold is when I take my phone out to take a picture!

Hi Karen,
Sounds like a nice day trip to Uniontown. I love that picture at the top of this post with the big church in the background. Reminds me of the true meaning of the holiday. Hope your Tuesday is a good one. See you then!

I love the bench from your mom, and I think it has to do with it was your mom's as much as anything. That connection. And I think I have forgotten to say that I really liked the past bench or two that you have shown. ...the one that was so big that looked like a good place to nap. I even could see it inside...and the one before it was super nice, too.

Love all 3 of your benches and the cute decor you have displayed on them.

I agree about it being nice to get out for something other than food shopping. I enjoyed visiting Lowe's today and wandering through the outdoor aisles while looking at all of the pretty plants and breathing in the crisp cool air.

It sounds like a cold walk today! It was 23 degrees here when I left the house at 4:45 am for work.
I hope they fix up that house. What fun to watch!
I like your benches.

How lovely that you have a bench that was your Mother's.
I noticed that our town is also putting up Christmas decorations. The ones I saw were very large blue snowflakes.

All you need is some snow falling and that first picture could be a Christmas card. So pretty. Loved how you displayed your rolling pins. I love, love, love that last bench. It would go perfect with my own home decor.

Hello,
We are seeing the local town here putting up the street decorations. They look pretty. I like all three of your benches. Your day out does sound nice.
Take care, enjoy your day and week ahead! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

That would be awesome if they fix up the old house!
Being an 'old house lover', I am always happy when an old house is saved and the architectural history can be saved and not torn down :)

Love, love, all of your benches!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
