Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

When I woke up it was later than usual at 6:45 and raining.
Probably why I slept a bit later.
By the time I got to town to walk it was just a drizzly mist
and then that stopped.
Started up again near the end of my walk.
It was 60 degrees.
Walked 5.8 miles
Found a dime

Walked all around town, the cemeteries, and the ball park.
Didn't see any of the regular walkers but did see
two women walking around the cemetery.

The geese flew around in a circle a couple of times
before landing in the harvested corn field behind the cemetery.

🍁    🍂    🍁

Didn't get much house cleaning done this morning but
at least I got a start on it.

The weather cleared up later and it was a sunny day.
We had to pick up a DVD from the library
so while we were out we went to the dump and dropped off our trash.

After lunch I went outside and walked another 1 1/2 miles
around Happy Trails.
Here's a couple of my favorite rocks.
The tip of my shoe shows the size of the rocks.
The one with the water in it I call the puddle rock.

This picture is the road we are working on.

And this picture I took standing at the top of our driveway.
You can see some of the leaves changing color.
Cut the picture down a bit to use for my new header.

Ken and I sat on the porch again this afternoon
and had a tootsie pop.
We both had cherry this time.

Got another couple rows of weave-it squares sewn together
and it won't be long before I'll be finished with October's baby blanket.

That's it for this beautiful October day.
Hope you made yours a good one. 😀
Thanks for stopping by.

It sounds like a fine October day to me. Lots of walking and some time at home. A stop at the library is always good, too.

I have got to send that quote to a friend! Love the photo of the geese...they don't come through here like they once did. I so miss them. I love to just hear them even.

I love your header picture…so perfect for this delightful month! You also got a great picture of the geese. I am sure the wild critters like puddle rock.

That is a beautiful picture of the fall leaves. A cherry tootsie pop sounds good. I think that is my favorite flavor. See you again tomorrow. :-)

I like the new header. That puddle rock makes a nice natural birdbath.

Glad you found a dime, someone is letting you know you're not alone and is with you. Love that rock!

Hello,
Love the shot of the geese and the view of the trees. The puddle rock is a nice spot for the birds and wildlife to get a drink. Have a happy day!

So much to love here, the geese, the trees, and the rocks. I love rocks. I imagine stairs is there for some reason, explained in a previous post that I missed. I'm not a constant blogger, so I miss things.

I have some time on my hands today to visit some blogs since we are staying put for a few days at my brother's home in Dallas. Time on the computer has been scarce for me on this trip. Nice hints of the foliage beginning to turn. Those are some large rocks for sure. Hope Tuesday is going well for you. Happy October!
