Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ken's Little Bridge

60 degrees again this morning but today it was pretty clear
and ended up sunny while I walked.

Went straight through town and passed up the industrial park.
About 1/2 mile later I turned around and headed back.
This time when I got to the industrial park I walked around it.
Back through town, around the block and that
was the end of my 6 mile walk.

Didn't see anyone else out today.
I'm sure some of the regulars were out just not where I was.

A skunk didn't quite make it across the road and I
could smell him quite a distance away.

👟 Nice to walk in the sunshine. ☀️

Stairs Picture Number 12
These belong to a house on the main road and is empty right now.
House was for sale for awhile but now the sign is gone.

Baked cookies this morning.  Usually bake Chocolate Chippers
but today I baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (without the raisins)
for Liz because they are her favorites.

After lunch we went to town to pick up a couple of books
that I had on hold.
The Affairs at Thrush Green by Miss Read
Cream Puff Murder by Joanne Fluke

Then we walked around Happy Trails.
Here is the little bridge that Ken has been working on
and is now finished.

Here's a closer look.
He made it using a tree that had come down.
He cut the boards out of the tree with the chain saw.
It is strong enough to hold the tractor.
I think he did a FINE job.

I thought about washing my very dirty Jeep
but that's all I did!!
Just wasn't in the car washing mood.

Another great fall day.
We sure have been having a fantastic fall.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

Great quote, I'm so glad October has finally arrived. I know it must be so gorgeous where you live with the trees changing colors.

Hi Karen. I washed my car last night (ran it through the car wash) and today it rained! Figures. Life is sometimes like that, isn't it. Ken is always doing something interesting. I will probably try that oatmeal cookie recipe, but I will also leave the raisins out. Hope you have a good weekend. See you tomorrow!

How great to have a good sturdy bridge strong enough for the tractor! Cookies sound good right about now!

It is a very good bridge and Ken was smart to make it without having to buy the wood. Win~Win.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies without the raisins...sounds good, but I do love raisins.

I vacuumed my vehicles and scrubbed the floor mats while hubby power washed the house! Great bridge Ken. Very mild weather in S central PA as well. Your cookies sound delicious.

Stairs #12 have nice wide steps. I wonder if the house sold.
Ken's new bridge must be very sturdy if it can hold a tractor.

The new Happy Trails bridge does look quite sturdy. How nice it will be for a quick walk or ride to the cabin. Nice steps today! They look sturdy too.

Very resourceful of Ken to make that bridge out of a tree that came down. It came out very nice and does look sturdy. I love oatmeal raisin cookies, but they have to have raisins, that's why they're called oatmeal raisin cookies.

He MADE those boards?!! That is a phenomenal job of work Ken.
Lately, I've had more days like your with car washing... just thinking, not 'doing'.
Love oatmeal cookies.
