Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tootsie Roll Pops

A foggy start this morning but it wasn't long before the sun came out
and it was a beautiful morning for walking.
Surprised I didn't see anyone else out walking.
It was 47 degrees and calm.
πŸ‘Ÿ Walked 6.4 miles πŸ‘Ÿ

Walked around both cemeteries, the ball park, and up and down
the streets in town.

David and Liz stopped to say good morning on their way to work.
They said they could see me a long way off in my bright
green sweatshirt.

Saw a groundhog run under a shed as I walked by.

Driving home there were a few deer around.

Stairs Number Three
Concrete stairs leading to the back yard of a house
on the main road in town.

🍁    πŸ‚     πŸ

Did housework in the morning.

We are still working on putting rocks on the other side
of the driveway.  In the morning Ken got two more loads.
After lunch I helped and we did two more.
We should be done with just a few more loads.

Yesterday when we went shopping Ken put a package
of Tootsie Roll Pops in the cart.
Today we sat on the front porch and ate one.
Haven't had one in ages.
I had a grape and Ken had a raspberry.
Would have picked chocolate - but there were none in the package!
Tootsie Pops came out in 1931
The 5 original flavors are
Chocolate
Orange
Grape
Cherry
Raspberry

Back in the house I made a couple of weave-its and then read.

Simple supper tonight of
hot dogs and homemade French fries.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. πŸ™‚

Tom - Thanks for identifying the Virginia Creeper/Woodbine yesterday.
Took a closer look at the car from the other day and it is a Subaru.

...I love your misty image. Cold overnight temperatures are idea. Give me a Tootsie Roll and day. That Subaru isn't about love anymore.

The Virginia Creeper is pretty, butI guess it can be a problem...a lot like bittersweet is.

The Tootsie Roll story surprised me...in a good way. Next time maybe some popsicles?

Beautiful misty photo. Grape was always my favorite tootsie pop, I haven't had one in decades.

Wow, that sure is cool but I know you love it. I guess the Halloween candy will be out soon or was it already? We still order our groceries and pick them up. Enjoy your evening! Bring out the sweaters!

Yum! Tootsie Pops! Go Ken! It's getting chilly there. Send some our way, please. Too warm down here!

I have not had a Tootsie pop in a while, either. Sounds good. That first photo is really awesome.

I always choose a chocolate one! 47 degrees is a chilly start but it doesn’t take long to warm up. I love your first photo.

It's that time of year with mist and fog. What is the difference? Does anyone know?

(Mist is a light fog. Fog is a heavy mist.)

God bless.

I used to buy tootsie roll pops around Valentine's day 'cause the had bags of cherry flavored only (not mixed flavors). Now, off anything chocolate I steer clear).

Pretty morning photo and the stairway to a "secret garden".

Beautiful first photo...

Well used and old fashioned looking stairs. -smile-

Oh yes!!! What a yummy 'blast from the past.' No chocolate.... No fair!!!!

I'm having FUN, today, with my post. -smile-

I love Tootsie Pops. Maybe we will give those out for Halloween, and since we don't have many kids some here, we should have plenty for ourselves. Hope you enjoy the coming weekend!
