Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Start of the Stairs Series

Starting off the week with a beautiful morning for walking.
51 degrees and sunny.
👟 Walked 6 miles 👟

Saw a couple deer as I drove to town.
Walked all over town, up and down all the streets,
both cemeteries and the ball park.

John was out walking and we stopped and talked for some
minutes. Everyone I end up talking too will sooner or later ask
me how far I walk and say they see me all over the place.
Today was when John asked.

Joy was out walking too and we also stopped and talked a bit.
She told me that her and John are neighbors. She went to school
with his daughter.

This car isn't going anywhere!

I walked around taking pictures of stairs around town and have found
quite a good number of them so far.
Didn't think I'd find so many interesting stairs.
I have always said either STEPS or STAIRS when referring to STAIRS
but have realized that is not right.
Steps are what you take up the Stairs.

The Stairs Series starts today.
Number One
I like the green chair on the porch.

Ken and I walked around the boarder of Happy Trails and put up 50 Posted signs.
Wish the deer could read so they would know they were safe
from the hunters.
Don't have a problem with hunters just don't want them walking
around on our property.

Last week I ordered bed sheets on line and they arrived Saturday.
Today they got washed, hung out on the line to dry,
and then made the bed.
They are a nice bright yellow.
Ken says they will keep us awake - I told him to close his eyes. 😎

Caron yarn (which I use for the baby blankets) was on sale at
Herrschner's on line so I bought a bunch of skeins - 25 to be exact.
That should be enough for quite a few blankets.
Got a good variety of colors.

Made a few weave-it squares for the current blanket
and then read.  I'm liking The Amazing Adventures of 4 cent Ned
but didn't realize at first that there were 8 other books so far
in the series.  I can't imagine 8 more books of it though so will
probably just read the first one.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.😀
Thanks for stopping by.

Sounds like a good day...a productive day. It was beautiful here today, too.

I like those blue stairs. The contrast with the white railing is pleasing to the eye.
I hope hunters will respect your Posted signs.

I think bright yellow sheets are a great idea!

Smart idea with the posted signs. I wouldn’t want hunters walking around our property, either. Pretty blue stairs!

Haha...close your eyes. It's nice that some folks in your town notice you walking and ask about it, too. Love the stair theme!

I love the idea of bright yellow sheets. We have bright orange sheets on our bed right now. I am glad the deer have a safe haven at Happy Trails! :-)

That car needs a lick of paint.

God bless.

Hello,
Your stair series will be interesting, I like the first photo. I have set of pale yellow sheets, it is a calm color. If it is dark can you still see the color of the sheets? I am happy to see your signs up, we are surrounded by public land where they are allowed to bow hunt. Take care, enjoy your day.

I like taking photos of old used up vehicles. Yours is a nice one!

Don't blame you for putting up the signs. Poppy is a hunter but we still put up signs. Those who hunt using dogs, run them all over property without permission...and run the poor deer to death. I missed a lot of your mail boxes and sheds...will try to keep up with your stairs. I always called them steps too. :)

Well, I just learned something new. I have also used steps and stairs interchangeably. Now I know the right word to use. If only my old brain will remember this.

Posted signs!!! Yesss!

You don't want 'em on your land! People live there!

Hunting to eat is fine. Hunting to drink beer and just have a good time, is not.... To me.

I like the stairs series. And it's a good idea to post your land. You want to be able to walk around and not risk hunters being out there. Enjoy your day and your beautiful weather. Hugs!

Good idea about the signs. Hope the hunters respect your wishes. Thanks for the step and stair education. Never really thought about it much!
