Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Misty Afternoon Walk

Woke up this morning to rain, thunder and lightning.
Don't mind walking in rain but don't walk in thunderstorms.
I turned over and went back to sleep and didn't wake
up till 7:30.

After breakfast we went shopping at the Shop and Save.
Got things put away, did a few things around the house
and then it was lunchtime.

After lunch it looked like the rain had stopped so I decided to have my
morning walk this afternoon. 😀

Left for town at 1:45 for my walk.
It was 62 degrees but the rain hadn't stopped completely
and I walked in a light mist.
Walked around town, the ball park, and the cemeteries.

A pretty red vine growing up a tree.

The corn is completely gone now in the field behind the cemetery
at the top of the hill, but still lots of fields with corn around.

Made a stop at the library to pick up a book that was on hold.
Servants,
A downstairs history of Britain from the
Nineteenth Century to Modern Times
by Lucy Lethbridge

A group of 4 women were walking around the cemeteries.
They were walking very slowly but sure looked like they
were enjoying themselves. 😃

An afternoon walk, though nice, just isn't the same as my morning walk
and I only walked 5 miles.

Stairs Number Two

🍁    🍂    🍁

The four jigsaw puzzles that we ordered to do when the snow comes
this winter arrived today.
Somehow I don't think I'll be able to wait for the snow.

We made burritos supper this evening.
We put chili, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, cheese, some hot sauce,
and sour cream in them.
Another one of our favorite meals.
We have a lot of them!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
A happy Tuesday to you. 🙂

Neat steps, leading to a pretty entry. The pots of flowers are still happy, like ours are. -smile-

You are used to your morning exercise. But great that you still got it in, even though not able to go in the morning. You'll enjoy tomorrow morning, even more!!!!

I just thought, I forgot to tell you I liked the stairs in yesterdays post...and I like today's, too. Even with the rain, it sounds like a good day. I wish Roger still like tacos, enchiladas, etc like he used to. They almost always sound good to me.

I have jigsaw puzzles waiting too. It's been so long, I've almost forgotten about them. Rigt now my table is full of cups and other dishes that will be donated to our Hospital Guild thrift store. Which means they have to be wrapped, which is why they are still sitting there. The burritos supper sound great.

Glad things cleared up a bit so you could have a safe walk. Nice stairs and little porch. We passed a lot of Dollar Generals today that made me think of you. We don't have them in our area. We are in North Carolina now.

I am really looking forward to a rainy morning when I can just roll over and go back to sleep. Rain is in our forecast, so we are on rain watch. The fields look a bit naked without the corn but I should think you will enjoy being able to see far across those fields.

Those burritos sound good. I always like a good dinner idea. I get so tired of fixing the same things over and over..... Glad you got your walk in even though it was afternoon. That book you got from the library sounds good. I finished a good mystery book last night. Have a good Wednesday. :-)

It's nice to see the daily changes around you.

I also like a morning walk, but settle for an afternoon one while school is in session for me. I love Mexican food and your burritos sound delicious!

Haha! We had burritos the other day and chimichangas last night! Must be Mexican food week! Your mentioning of doing puzzles recently made me want to get back into that. Hubby and I just finished a puzzle last night. A good challenging one! Do you buy your puzzles any place special? I'm hoping to expand our collection.

I agree that walking in the afternoon is just not the same at all.
That's a good solid set of concrete stairs with the pots of flowers adding a nice touch.

So is Servants similar to the PBS Upstairs, Downstairs, Karen? May need to see if my library has that book. Have not been bitten by the puzzle bug, yet. Like the steps pics♥
