Another morning that started out foggy.
42 degrees so time to wear an extra sweatshirt.
Sunrise 7:13
π Walked 6 miles π
Walked all over town, around both cemeteries and one road
down at the industrial park.
The Drane house in the fog.
The bulls seemed to be happy resting in the farm yard in the fog.
An hour or so later it was sunny with a bright blue sky.
Rebecca and Joy were both out walking this morning.
You can't help but love these clear, crisp, fall mornings.
Stairs Number 4
These concrete stairs are neighbors to yesterdays stairs.

I helped Ken put the last of rocks on the other side of the driveway.
Looks so much better.
But wait there's more.
Now we want to do something with the left side of the lower driveway
which is on the other side of the rock island.
I baked an Apple-Cherry Crisp this morning and haven't even
eaten any of it yet.
That will be my snack this evening instead of ice cream,
though I'll probably have a little scoop on top of the apple crisp.
Finished the last square on the October baby blanket.
Now just have to figure out a pattern and sew them together.
Does anyone know what kind of tree this is?
It has pods that look to me like bear scat with red berries stuck in it.
Picture not the best but the best I could do.
Edit: Tom has identified the tree as a
Also known as a cucumber tree.
Thanks so much Tom.
I've been meaning to tell you how much we like our new bed sheets.
They are microfiber sheets - extremely fine fibers of polyester.
1500 count and the softest sheets I've ever had.
Ordered another set.
And so another day has zoomed by.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. π

Victor - Looked up the difference between fog and mist.
Both are created by water droplets.
Fog is a cloud on ground level, even if that is a hill or mountaintop.
Mist forms whenever water droplets are suspended in air by temperature inversion or a change in humidity.
Fog is denser than mist and tends to last longer.
Susan q - Yes, Servants is like Upstairs, Downstairs but it doesn't read like a story because it is true and more of a documentary.

We are having similar days here at present.
Karen that tree may be Magnolia acuminata.

Nice rock wall that you built. Now another one? There's no end to your supply of rocks it seems!!
The apple/cherry crisp will taste awesome with ice cream on top. Yum.
I wondered if that was some kind of magnolia from the seeds. Was hoping someone would say. Love the foggy shots...and, oh, how I love what you guys are doing with all the rocks.
It seemed to me that all of September just zoomed by. My dad was one of the first to pour concrete steps in the neighborhood where I grew up, so I am pretty fascinated with them. I am also fascinated with your rock work. We aren't making much progress on our rock project, but I do have the perimeter laid out. I can almost imagine how it will look.
That's a lot of rocks! Ken must be getting quite a workout hauling those things every day. Sounds like you had a perfect fall day. We're not there yet. The heat and humidity is still clinging for dear life to us. Can't wait for chilly days to come. Your dessert sounds yummy. Definitely got to have some ice cream on top!
That is a beautiful autumn tree. None like that in my corner yet. I can't wait for that kind of color. The rocks look great! Always a project for you both.
Thanks for the link Tom, that's what it is alright. Interesting tree. We have a few of them around on our property.
Thank you for the info about fog and mist. I did not realise that fog is a low flying cloud.
Another puzzle in my life. Do stairs/steps go up or down? It was easier when you photographed letter-boxes and sheds.
God bless.
The Drane house looks great in the fog. Well done!
Very nice photos. Mist and fog move constantly. When I see it is misty in the morning ... I bike to the forest π²π²π² hoping to see the sun and sunbeams (Jacobsladder's)
Hi Karen. Beautiful fall pictures. I love what you are doing with your driveway. You home looks so great. I will look forward to seeing what you do with the other side of your driveway. It seems like home/yard improvement is never ending. Hope you have a happy Oct. 1! I am sure you will. See you again soon. :-)
You and Ken are always so busy working on your new home and surroundings, this reminds me of when we first built our home 20 yrs. ago, and would you believe we are still finding projects to do, and we love it, it keeps us healthy!
Your apple cherry crisp sounds delicious!
The photos are beautiful, I enjoy foggy mornings, took some the other day as I woke up!
Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comment!
Have a great day,
Sue
Beautiful morning....
Don't think you 2 will ever be *done,* with things, around your home! Which is wonderful. No one wants to "be done."
Mmmm, Apple Crisp, with vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmm.... -smile-
Yayyyyy Ocotober!

I'll say! adds such a depth to an ordinary photo:)
My library does not have the book about Servants; available on Amazon. Would be an interesting audio book. There are plenty of landscaping ideas on Pinterest, Karen. Thanks again for sharing your fall day with us♥
