Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Great weather

44 degrees this morning when I walked.
A calm morning with a mix of sun and clouds.
Perfect walking weather.

A delightful walk all around town, the ball park and both cemeteries.

Roger was out walking Andy around the ball park.
Another man was there too, I've forgotten his name but I see him
once in a while running.
He was only wearing shorts and a t-shirt!
Didn't seem quite warm enough for that yet.

The farm pond down by the bulls.

Bull #11 is now gone too, but these two were happy to have their picture taken.

Walked 6 miles

Yesterday instead of walking in town I took a morning hike of 4 miles
around Happy Trails.  I figure 4 miles of hiking equals 6 miles of walking.

Though I do enjoy hiking I wouldn't want to do it every morning.
I am more of a walker than a hiker.

For me walking means walking on an even surface.
The road, sidewalk, paved path, gravel path, or mulched path, up and down hills.

Hiking on the other hand to me is walking up and down hills
on an uneven surface with rocks, roots, and holes about,
maybe crossing a stream or two.

🌤    🚶‍♀️    🌤

Dusted my hutch and changed out the dishes for different ones.
I get tired of looking at the same things on it and enjoy
moving things around.

Went around some of the trails at HT with my cutter cutting
down new sticker bushes trying to come back.
There is NO WAY to get rid of them so cutting them as they
grow is the only way to keep them under control.

Nice sitting on the porch a while this afternoon reading.
One of the nice things about having a porch!!

Hope your Monday is a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

...it was a beautiful day here too, but it hit 76F by afternoon. I hate to say it, but it would be nice to get some rain.

You're so lucky to have those trails!

We had rain this morn...had had it through the night, too.

Your shots always look like wonderful places to walk. I think your definition of hiking and walking sums it up perfectly.

Those Bulls look healthy!

I'm a walker :)

All the best Jan

Hiking is definitely a whole different kind of workout. If I didn't know better, you could trick me into believing that the first picture was taken in late September. I think I am making the Snickerdoodle Bread tomorrow. Maybe. 🤞🏼

It's warming up! I don't even have anywhere to hike here but I think I would prefer walking too. Nice to change things up a bit though. Have a great week! :)

I agree that walking and hiking are two completely different activities. I also agree that porches are one of life's great pleasures! Have a great week!

Your diligence is inspiring. Today, I’ve been walking around my house, trying to stay on top of the dust of renovations. Not an easy job.

Hello,

Looks like a great day for walking. I love the cows posing for the photo.
We do not many side walks here, most of our local walk are on the fire roads, which is more like hiking. I have to watch my step. Take care, have a happy day!

I do enjoy hiking, but I like to walk as well. I think it is so cool that you can hike that far on your own land! See you again soon!

The older I get the less hiking sounds appealing. Level surfaces are much more appealing for walking. How nice you can enjoy walking in such good weather and also that you don't have to go far for a good hike! That's a nice pose from those bulls!

I envy your scenery from your porch. Here, we have covered porch, but see only the house across the street. I enjoy walking vs. hiking too.

I enjoy both hiking and walking, it's good exercise. Love those bulls posing for their photo. Nice photos, thanks for sharing and have a lovely day. It's nice and sunny here today and our library is open once again. :)

I used to like both equally, but hiking has become a bit more unsteady for me! I don't want to fall or have an injury. I've been walking after supper. Our weather is finally staying warm-ish.

Your second of these is my favourite.
