Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Farm Loop

It was a great walk this morning!!
40 degrees, calm and sunny.

Drove to town and parked in my usual place at the town pond.
Took my walking stick along with me today and instead of walking
around town, walked through town and around the Farm Loop.

Stopped to say hi to these fellows at Farmer Bill's farm.

Then continued on my way.

A lot of times when I pass by the Dairy Farm there are no cows
out in the front pasture but got lucky today and some were out there.

A couple of little ones.

This picture cracked me up!!
I think they wanted to see what my phone was when I held it up to take the picture and they really stretched for it.

Didn't see any people and no cars either walking past the farms.
Just me and the animals.

A baby Robin is learning to fly.  Taking a rest here in the road.
I helped it over to the side of the road.

When I got back to the car I had walked 4.7 miles.
Then walked up to the cemetery on the hill, and went down to say hi
to the bulls, around the cemetery again and then back to the car.
Walked 6 miles

    Made Snickerdoodle Bread this morning.
The recipe makes two loaves so I'm going to give one to David and Liz.

Ken worked on the stone wall again today and now it looks as good as new.
Maybe even better!

I went outside in the afternoon again to pick up more dead fall
to add to the fence.  That is a job that will never be done,
but I like doing it.  Keeps me outside and I get a lot of exercising
bending up and down.

Back inside for some knitting before supper time.

A happy Saturday to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

It looks so picture perfect out where you walked today, so beautiful! The cows trying to check out your phone are so funny, they cracked me up. That baby robin has a very angry look on his little face. He cracked me up too! The Snickerdoodle bread sounds delicious. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. :)

What a grumpy looking little Robin. I hope it learned to fly before something caught it.

The weather looks beautiful . Cows are so curious. I have noticed that over time, but the heard of Bison that lives near here, won't even look at you when you try to get their attention.

That robin is so cute. I like the cows stretching, too. And love that barn in the photo above them.

It sound like you had a lovely day, which just proves that the quote about beginning your day with a walk is so true.

Fun photos from your walk on Saturday. Too funny about the cows stretching toward you. Love seeing the little calves. We had a busy outdoor day on Saturday with temps reaching the 80's!

The farm walk is my favorite. Cattle are smarter than one might first think.
