Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another walk in the rain

35 degrees this morning though it didn't feel that cold.
It had just stopped raining when I drove to town and was just cloudy
when I started walking.

It was the usual town walk, cemeteries, and ball park.

No bulls outside today but the horse was out in this pasture.
She hasn't been around that I saw in a long time.
Could have been in another pasture somewhere.

Didn't think it would rain so wasn't wearing the right clothes
for when after a couple of miles, it started raining.
I figured I'd just walk till I got wet and cold, cut my walk short
and head back home.

I was a bit wet when the the rain stopped but kept walking because
I wasn't cold.  The last mile it rained again and since I was
already a bit wet just finished up in the rain
and got all of my 6 miles walked.

After lunch we got rid of all our trash at the dump on
Bumble Bee Road.
Checked out the farms on Bumble and I think my old friend
Bull #55 might be at this one.
Hard to see but there are some cattle in about the center of the picture.

We didn't go right home but went for a little ride.
It was one of those days when it rained on and off with brief peeks
of the sun once in a while.
At one point we even had hail while we were driving.
The sun was out soon after this picture was taken.

Made the pattern for the baby blanket with the squares and
got two of the rows sewn together.
(7 squares to a row and the finished blanket has 10 rows)

Read this afternoon too.
Used the Air Fryer again for supper today.
This time we made Sweet and Sour Chicken.
The chicken is frozen and we just cooked it for 15 minutes and
it turned out great.
What a wonderful purchase the air fryer is turning out to be.
The next thing I'm going to try is a recipe for baked apples with it.

Well, I think this evening I'll be sewing some more squares
while watching an episode of Damages.  This show sure has a lot
of twists and turns in it and it seems EVERYONE is a bad guy.
Not that crazy about the show but want to see what happens next.

Hope you're Saturday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

SusanQ - Not a bird house in yesterday's picture but you were close - it's a bird feeder.
Martha - I would say by June the weather will mostly stay warm.  That is when we can plant things.  I walk early in the morning so the temperature that I record is the coldest then.  MOST afternoons have been warming 10 to 20 degrees higher.  It hardly ever gets really hot and we don't need AC here.  We get to have our windows open which is great.

Having windows open is awesome! That only happens here about 2 weeks in Spring and Fall. Otherwise it's Ac or furnace.

Loved going for a drive with you. Beautiful scenery. Can't wait to hear about Baked Apples!

...everyday there is rain in the forecast, but it's a hit and miss deal. Enjoy your Sunday Karen.

The horse makes an appealing sight.

You are one busy bee! I would love to have the windows open all the time. By June when it finally warms up there we will usually be in triple digit temps, it's horrible. Enjoy the rest of the weekend. :)

It seems like everyone that gets an air fryer likes it! I should think about it I guess! It would be handy in the summer when it's too hot to grill! Happy Mother's day my friend!

Your mention of baked apples in the air fryer, gives me an idea. I like baked apples, so I must try that sometime.

Our Daughter in law enjoys using her air fryer and we get to enjoy the results. Glad it wasn't too cold to finish your walk in the rain. Hopefully you had a nice hot shower when you got home. If I haven't said it yet...Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day Karen!

It seems we have some rain every day, yesterday we had some hail with the rain.
The dinner sounds yummy, I would love baked apples too. Pretty shot of the horse.
Happy Sunday, enjoy your day! Wishing you a great new week!

You managed to walk your full 6 miles in spite of getting wet! At just 35 degrees it must have been chilly.
I hope you're having a good Mother's Day.

Glad you got to finish your walk. We've had lots of rain but the rivers and lakes are still very low. As much as I hate to say it we need more rain, but it seems like that is all it's been doing lately. Have a great week!
