Books I've Read In 2018

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day.
~Henry David Thoreau

This is the day which the Lord hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

A late card

A cloudy morning walk, temperature 27 degrees and
it was windy at times.

A walk all around town, the cemeteries, and the ball park.
No people out again but the cat that lives across
the street from the cemetery is out just about every day now.
He used to run away from me but now runs over to me
and rubs against my leg and purrs loudly.
Hard to get a picture because he keeps moving.

Walked down by the bulls and around the Drane house.
This is the pond behind the Drane house and is part of Farmer
Marvins farm. Took the picture standing in the back yard of the house.

I'm sure I've posted a picture of the outhouse before but here's another one.

Walked 6 miles
Sunrise - 7:36
Sunset - 5:16

☁️    🙂    ☁️

Though it was a cloudy walk the sun came out later in the day.

🌤

Took our garbage to the dump, didn't have much but it was
nice to get out of the house for a bit.
Stopped at the Dollar General on the way home.
At the Dollar General if you buy something during the week
you get a coupon to use on Saturday.
($5 off if you spend $20)

We got a Christmas card in the mail today from Ken's
Auntie Wilma - mailed from NJ on Dec 11.
I could have walked faster than that. 🙂

Ken ordered a new play station when his died on Monday.
Today the new came.  It arrived by UPS in just two days.

Well another day comes to an end.
Hope it was a sunny day where you are.
Thanks for stopping by.

...we needed ice skates here this morning. I like to collect pictures of out houses, this one is big. Thanks for your card.

It was another cloudy day but very mild temperatures . That outhouse looks like a luxury model compared to what I grew up with.

We got some very late Christmas cards this week too. They were mailed 3 weeks ago ( from a different province, but still...)
We walked in a chilly wind this morning but almost clear skies.

I wish any of our Dollar Stores gave coupons like that. It`s not hard to spend $20 there.

It is sure crazy how slow the mail has become. We got a late card today too, but I think our friends mailed it late. We got a late card yesterday too. Looks like you have made a kitty-cat friend. Does Ken have a PS 4 or PS 5. Charly talked about getting a PS 5, but they are super expensive and hard to get. It's always nice to get out of the house for a bit and run some errands. Stay well and have a good day.

I mailed a bill December 11 or 12, and it had not cleared at the end of the month. I waited till a couple days past Jan 1...and called the company to see if they were running late with the holidays. I told him I had mailed the check Dec 11/12...he said he knew how it was...he had ordered his son something in November for Christmas and he had just got it the day before. I went ahead and paid him by credit card..and told him to just cash it for the next month if it came...it came in just 3 or 4 more days!

That is a pretty kitty!

Hello,
Love the friendly cat and the views of the pond. Our mail has been terrible, my SIL in Florida just told me she rec'd our Christmas card that was mailed back in early December. Our bills are late arriving and a payment has not been rec'd, the mail is awful. Take care, have a happy day!

I prefer Cats to Dogs- Cats don't bark. Good that Ken has a new Play Station- just the thing for wintery nights.

The cat did its investigation and decided you were a good and acceptable person to be friends with thus the loud purring so you would get the message. :)

That outhouse makes me smile. That is crazy about that Christmas card that didn't even have to cross the entire country. We are in sunny Arizona for a few days!

We have been receiving late cards, too. Looks like that kitty has found a friend!

It looks like you have made a new friend. Cute how he rubs against your leg.
The mail has been unpredictable all over it seems.

Yes, the mail has been a little unpredictable this year, but at least it gets through eventually!

All the best Jan

Yep! The mail is a mess. Glad most of our important mail is now electronic!
