Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Waiting

When I walked this morning it was 55 degrees and cloudy.
Started my walk from parking lot at the pond.
The lighted fountain in the pond - you can see how dark it is at 6:35.

Walked through down, passed our old house and over to the industrial
park and walked a couple of miles around in there.

This road runs between the industrial park and the main road.
A nice quiet road that ends in a court - walked to the end and back.

Walked back through town and around the ball park loop a few times
and then back to the Jeep and home.

Lisa and Dwayne were out walking and also saw a man walking
his dog who I've seen once in a while.  Nice that the dog was friendlly
and on a leash.

Saw a couple deer on the way to town in the headlights.
Have to keep a sharp eye out for them in the dark of the early morning.

Walked 6 miles
Sunrise - 7:02
Sunset - 7:19

I spent the morning making Macaroni Salad and Chocolate Chippers.

Our son David and his girlfriend Liz are coming for a visit from
NC for the weekend and they will be staying in the cabin.
So this afternoon we went and tidied up the cabin for them.
I left the cookies on the table in the cabin.
I'm sure David knows that I'll be baking him the cookies
(I do every time he comes) 🙂
but thought it would be a nice surprise when they walk in and see them.

The afternoon seemed long but that's because we were waiting for
David and Liz.
I kept busy around the house and read.

They should be arriving any time now at the house and then later
will go on up to the cabin.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Friday to you.

Oh how good to be expecting company this weekend. I'm sure that they will enjoy their stay and I know that you will love having them home. I was watching Hillbilly Kitchen and she was featuring macaroni salad and so I went shopping for macaroni salad stuff. Then, after working in the garage, I didn't have the energy to make it. Hope yours was yummy. I've got to check your recipe again.

The colors in your 3rd photo are especially lovely. The road almost looks lavender. How exciting to have a visit from David and his girlfriend to look forward to. What a nice greeting those cookies will be. Enjoy your time together.

I bet that fountain is very pretty in real time. Oh, enjoy the company!! I'm sure you will. Like you, when our son comes down here from Houston, I always bake him something special. Usually a pumpkin pie (that's his favorite)

Enjoy your visit with your son. I love when my son visits from NH and am always a little sad when he leaves! It's nice you have somewhere so private for them to stay!
