Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Needs a trim

38 degrees this morning and sunny once the sun came over the mountain.

Had another walk all around town and around all the usual loops
I like to walk.

This picture is taken from the lower cemetery.
The barn on the far left is the new one that I took pictures of its progress.
Those pictures were taken from the main road.
Now that most of the corn has been cut down I can see the barns
from the cemetery again.

The field behind the cemetery up on the hill has cows in it again.
These cows seems to get moved around quite often.
Here's a youngish one looking at me.

Down past the Drane house one of the little horses were in with the bulls.
I think her bangs could do with a trim.

Another little horse escaped somehow and was wandering around
inside the fence by the Drane house.
I told Lena who I saw walking a few minutes later.
Her brother is Farmer Marvin and she called to tell him about the horse.

Looked up and saw some geese flying by.

Walked 5.8 miles

☀️     🙂     ☀️

Ken's phone wasn't charging so we made a trip to the phone store.
Turns out that the connections just needed cleaning.
Nice to find a quick solution that didn't cost anything!

While out we stopped at the dump and got rid of some more stuff
that Ken cleared out of the tractor barn.

It's been a sunny cool day with a breeze and just perfect weather
for drying sheets on the line.
They always smell nice but when it is cool they smell even better!!

Ken got a Thank You card in the mail today.
It was from our Pastor thanking Ken for the work he did
removing the sidewalk last week.
We thought how nice it was that Pastor took the time to do that. 🙂

Still working on the outlining of the cross stitch.
I keep thinking I'll be done in a day or two but it never seems to end.
Very time consuming but what a difference it makes.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy Monday to you.

How I love that picture of the geese...we don't see many in the fall. We used to see a lot, and could see a few any time of year but that stopped a fewyears ago and I miss them. We were out today and the farmers over in Illinois have started to harvest here and there...I just so love this time of year.

Yes, that pony does need a haircut. i am waiting for cooler weather. We are in a hot spell, but I think that will change shortly.

My hair is looking a lot like the pony’s, but I have kind of taken a liking to this shaggy style. It was a perfect morning here for walking. I thought of you when I wanted to keep going.

I chuckled when I read your comment about the pony's bangs. I agree they need a trim. You are right about what a difference outlining makes in cross stitch pieces. We haven't seen geese here but I expect it will happen soon.

Yes, sheets dried in the fall smell heavenly. A nice quick answer to the dilemma of an escaped pony. 😊 I haven't seen any geese, but I like seeing them whenever I do. Could you hear them?

Ken is a great guy and you are both a real help to your church. That was nice of your pastor to take the time to express gratitude. Must be fall with all those geese flying South for the winter. I sympathize with that pony - I need a trim too! Have a great week!

A formation of geese in the sky! A sure sign of colder days to come!! I always love going along with you on your morning walks!

I personally think the gesture of removing the sidewalk was MORE generous!

My husband keeps his phone in his pocket and occasionally has to take a pin and very carefully get the lint out of the little hole where the charger plugs in. That young cow seems to be wondering where all the corn went!

Those little horses sure are cute. I had to laugh at Tom's comment above. So true! Glad the phone fix was quick and free.

The long hair must be annoying to the horse.

Hello,

The corn around here has not been cut yet, they seem wait till it is really cold. I love the cute cow, horse and the geese in flight.
Thank you's in the mail are rare, it seems like more is one online.
Have a great day!

Wonder if that pony is able to see well enough. I’ve given the “scissor treatment” to my own hair a few times in the past six/seven months. There are geese that will fly overhead here sometimes. I always love watching them. Happy first day of fall!
