Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

This morning it was 8 degrees, snowing, and a bit icy
so started my walk making loops in the basement.

After breakfast I told Ken I needed to get outside for a while
so I went out and shoveled the snow off the driveway.
By then it was up to 12 degrees.
Shoveling made me very warm so I went for a walk to cool off.

Ended up walking the rest of my 6 miles outside.
Walked up the lane towards Ron and Theresa's house.

I saw that Ron was outside (spotted his orange hat)
so walked over to his house to say hello and have a little chat.
If you look close or click to make bigger you might be
able to see that speck of orange next to the house which is Ron.

Took these pictures on the way back down the lane towards home.

Just about home, driveway on the left.

Had planned to get some house cleaning done this morning
but sure was glad I went outside instead.

Got a start on this weeks house cleaning this afternoon though
by getting our bedroom done.

Then it was time for reading and making a few weave-it squares
for next months baby blanket.
Don't have a pattern in mind yet but the colors
I'm working with so far are purple, pink, and white.

Temperature never did get out of the teens today but
it sure was nice to see the sun shining!!

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

I enlarged all of the pictures and just so enjoyed the magnificence of the snowy woods. I am quite sure I would never venture out on an eight degree morning. Too cold!!!

...our weather was about the same here, cold! You sure are a hardy soul, it was too cold for.

You got some great shots, but the first is my favorite...I did see Ron, but if you had not told the orange was him, I don't think I would have known. It was up to at least 23 here today...still really cold.

Yes, I agree, sometimes, you just need to get outside, no matter how cold it is! Glad you had a good day. I love your pictures from today. See you again tomorrow.

That is SO cold! But I remember how warm we would get shoveling snow or cutting firewood! Pealing those layers off! Take care and be careful in the ice and snow! Hugs!

The snow looks so pretty! I hope it warms up a little bit. We have to do loops inside sometimes, too!

Hi Karen- Whilst your having Snow and cold days- we've been getting some well needed Rain- it may mean the beginning to the end of the Drought...some hot days coming up though at over 100Deg F. Cool night here in Bradbury and somewhat quiet this evening in suburbia. Stay warm there in Western Maryland. Regards. KEV.

Yep, I spotted Ron. Isn't it amazing what being outside can do for us. Makes my whole day better. Your pictures are beautiful! I just love where you live. How many times have I said that! :) It is 26 degrees and windy here this morning, which is pretty darn cold for us. Sure wish the wind would calm down for a few days.

Hello,

Your snowy photos are lovely. I am glad to be inside, warm and cozy.
It is super cold out there, we do not have any snow here. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great new week!

Yikes, it's 25 here and I'm freezing. My hat is off to you for braving the cold to complete your walk. Speaking of hats, I do see Ron's orange hat. The snowy scenes are so pretty to look at. Although I think it's cold, I'm going to make a point of getting outside today. I think I've been inside for too long and starting to go a bit stir crazy.
