Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Finished Baby Blanket

Left for town walking at 6:35.
It was cloudy so seemed a bit darker than usual.
45 degrees
Sunrise 6:51

Didn't see any deer today, walking to town or
on the way back.

Got to town and was walking around the lower cemetery
when it started to rain some big drops.
Wasn't supposed to rain till later so didn't have my umbrella.
Thought I'd better cut my walk short and head back home
when the rain stopped as quick as it had started so
I continued walking.

Walked down the road to the ball park and had to make a little detour
because the road was closed.

After walking around the ball park loop went out to the main
road and walked back home.

Didn't see anyone else out walking or running.

I was 1/4 mile from home when the rain started again.
I made it home just in time!!

Walked 6 miles

David ended up spending the night and we had such a nice visit.
He left this morning when I went walking.

It's been a rainy day and I spent most of it finishing
sewing the weave-it squares for the baby blanket.
(never did work on it any more last night)

No special pattern to this one.  Used yarn that I had left
over from previous blanket.

Read some too.
The only house work that got done was the every day chores.

This evening and for the next week I'll be making squares for
the yellow and white bedspread for us.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

...wonderful colors on the blanket. We woke to rain which then turned to snow nad by late afternoon the ground was snow. So much for raking leaves today.

Little one will love the colors in that blanket. Glad you made it home before you got soaked!

I can just feel the softness of the baby blanket...love all the colors. I would never have thought you were old enough to have grandchildren that old! But then I don't think I should have children as old as I have either...sometimes it totally surprises me that they are as old as they are! No wonder you don't get to see them often...

So good that David was able to stay over and visit. It’s always good to have the kids around. Some fine day, Debbi will be there, too. I do believe it. The spare squares make up into a nice baby blanket. Do you make these for missions or the area hospitals? I can’t remember where all these baby quilts are going. (My mind is a sieve.)

I have also had trouble dodging showers the past couple of days. Yesterday, I didn't get far before the rain hit pretty hard. I had my umbrella, but Mllie didn't! :~) So we got back home as fast as we could. Your new baby blanket is gorgeous. It kind of reminds me of Christmas.

I like your Weave It Squares- the Baby Blanket- well made. My Mother in Law now sadly long passed did similar Blankets to you- there is a certain amount of Art in it all. Have a great weekend.

How nice of the rain to hold off so that you could complete your walk.
I'm glad David decided to spend the night and you could visit with him longer.
Love this colorful little baby blanket.
