Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day outside

Drove to town and started walking at 6:40.
41 degrees and calm but it felt colder than that
and there was a light frost in places.
Felt nice when the sun finally came over the mountain.
Sunrise 7:37
and it was a pretty one.
Walked all over town, up and down all the streets.
More work was going on at the ball park so skipped walking
around there.
Went around both cemeteries.

Stopped at the post office and dropped a couple of cards down the mail slot.

Farmer Marvin put some cattle back down by the barn
near the Drane house and they sure were making a lot of noise
this morning.  I walked down by them and took their picture.
Don't know what the were crying about.
Thought maybe they were taken away from their moms
but they don't look that young.
Anyway they stopped crying when I talked to them
and started up again when I left.

Didn't see anyone else out walking this morning
and no deer either.

Walked 6 miles
Found a Penny

🍁     ☀️     🍂

Did the morning house chores and then went outside with Ken.
Helped him harvest some more stone.
Had lunch and we went back outside.

This time to walk around Happy Trails and see where our next
trail will be.  We'd like a trail wide enough to drive the ATV on,
but also making a walking trail around the whole edge of our property.
Ken cut down a bunch of little sapling trees that were in the way
and we picked up lots of branches extending the natural fence.

Supposed to have some rain for the next couple of days so wanted to
be outside today taking advantage of the beautiful sunny day.
This is my favorite time of year for walking around Happy Trails.
Things are not all overgrown, you can see where you're going better,
and no bugs.

Supper was a quick meal that I just threw together.
Started with browning ground beef.
Then added a can of cream of mushroom soup, half a jar of pasta sauce,
garlic, onion, and some spices.
Added some left over cooked penne pasta.
 Turned out pretty good.

Well that's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

That sunrise looks awesome. I could use some sunshine by now, but I guess it will come when it's supposed to.

I don't think the sky could be bluer, or a leaf redder. These glorious days of fall are just too lovely to spend indoors!

Your closing leaf shots are always so beautiful...I know I have said it before, but just want you to know I still enjoy them.

I messed outside a bit this afternoon...put a few bulbs in the ground just to get them in before I totally forgot them...

And made spaghetti when I came in.

The cows seem put out.

You have such a happy place here and it's a joy to stop in for a visit!

That red leaf is stunning placed on those rocks.

Poor cows...probably taken from their mothers, it's that time. :(

Beautiful crimson leaf... the rain will catch up to us late tomorrow night. I’m afraid that we will be saying goodbye to most of the beautiful foliage.

Perhaps the cows would like to hear your memory verses. I think they would have a calming influence on them.

A beautiful look up through that crimson tree to the blue sky above.

That's a beautiful blue sky and red leaf. Cows seem to love attention especially when someone walks by, they all stop and look. :)
Have a wonderful day!

Lovely view of the clear blue sky through the red leaves. It is nice when the bugs go bye bye. I think our mosquitoes have been replaced by stink bugs. Ugh! They're everywhere around here right now.

What a lovely sunrise picture!!
I wonder why those cattle were making a fuss? A mystery which will probably not be solved.
