Let the house for my walk at 6:55
49 degrees, sunny and calm
Sunrise 7:01
Today I waited till it was light enough and walked to town.
Went around the lower cemetery and then walked up and down the main
road and a couple side roads.
Counted seven deer.
Pretty quite around town.
Didn't see anyone else out running or walking.
I noticed a huge bees nest walking on the road back to my house.
Passed by this many times but today was the first time I noticed it.
It was near the edge of the road in an apple tree
and not very high up so I was able to just reach up and
take a couple of pictures.
Continued walking up the hill and here I
am home once again.
Walked 6 miles
🍂 🍁 🍃
Today we cleaned out the gutters on the house.
Or rather Ken did and I watched.
I also prayed because he was up quite high out back by the basement doors.
All went well and nice to have that job out of the way.
A beautiful sunny day and a great one for getting some laundry done.
I got a few things done inside and read a bit too.
So ends another blog post.
Hope your day was a happy one.

...that patch of goldenrod is beautiful.
That is a nice sized hornet's nest! I could even see them in the first shot. The goldenrod is beautiful...do you ever think there are an awful lot of yellow flowers in the fall?
That is quite a hive!
That wasp (paper wasp?) nest is amazing! So sometimes you take your car to town and sometimes you just walk from home...what dictates how you choose?
The pattern on the bees/wasps nest is fascinating. I'd be apt to stay far away just in case they didn't appreciate my presence.
I find these huge nest fascinating. The patterns and intricate workmanship is amazing.
Better not hit that one with a stick.
A couple of years ago there was a hornet's nest along the trail I walk. Like you, I didn't notice it for a long while. Later on, maybe the next spring, it kind of came apart and fell to the ground. I took it home, thinking I might try making paper from it, but never did.
I love the last picture with the fence and the goldenrod.

I think hornet nest are interesting. I remember when I was little, It seemed every year someone would bring one to school for show and tell. It was always fascinating to me.

That is one big nest! I was recently in a shop that was selling ones just like that. They had a big tree branch right near the front counter that was filled with them in different sizes. I wouldn't buy one, but they sure are interesting to look at.
I'm off to check out that pizza recipe.
I love seeing goldenrod along the highways, I used to have it in my garden and looked forward to seeing in fall.
Yes ladders are scary especially when up high, I too am on them more than I should. As always your day was so productive.. Thanks for sharing. Checking out the recipe.
Blessings,
Sue
