Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The kitchen sink

A sunny morning and 50 degrees at 6:30 when I left
on my walk.
Walked straight through town, up Barn Sale Rd, then
down toward Happy Trails, and back to town.
Around both cemeteries and the ball park loop, through town
again and then home.
Lisa was out running this morning and we passed in one of the cemeteries.

Haven't seen Joe in a while.  He works for the town and I see him
most mornings somewhere around town in his truck and he always waves to me.
Learned from another worker that he has had knee replacement surgery
and is recovering from that.

There are a lot of swallows at one of the cemeteries and I took
a bunch of pictures of one sitting on a wire this morning.
Every single picture was blurring.

A lovely morning for a walk.
Walked 6 miles
🦅     🦅     🦅
Had to stay home this morning and get the lawn cut again.
It grows so fast this time of year.

After lunch I got some more weeding done in the gardens.
It was sunny when I started and after a couple of hours I felt
the  first drops of rain.  Kept weeding for a little while until
it started raining hard and then called it quits.
Sat on the porch for a while watching it rain till I started getting
wet there too.
So that drove me back in the house.

Too late to get any work started in the house so I read. 😊

Ken's was up at the house all day.
An inspector came to check out our well water.
Took away samples to test.
It's been running clear and fast so hopefully it will be fine.
Should know something by the end of the week.

When Ken came home he drove me back to the new house
so I could get a look at the kitchen sink that the plumbers put in today.
I can't believe this is my sink.  I've always wanted one like this.
Both of my grandmothers had one just like it.

Ronnie finished painting the living room.
The color we picked was a gray.
Couldn't get a good picture of the color today so don't have a picture.

The rain passed and once again the sun was shining by suppertime.

That's it for today.

I'm so jealous of that farm sink! My next house will have one for sure. Your blue on the walls is beautiful. So soothing. You are going to have a wonderful house when it's all done.

How long did it take you to do the plans for this house?

Love the photos!

Your new sink is a beauty; I am shopping for a sink this month. You walk in a lovely route.

Ken drew up the plans and it took about a month. Saved LOTS of money doing the plans ourselves.

I enjoy seeing the beauty that surrounds you as you walk. That kitchen sink looks amazing.

I've seen that kind of sink in old houses that we've toured and always admired them. We don't have a dishwasher so that sink would be very handy. Too bad I'm not redoing my cabinets.
Isn't it frustrating when pictures turn out blurred? Swallows are hard to photograph. I saw a Barn Swallow this week; haven't seen one for a few years. We mostly have Violet green and Tree Swallows.

I thought I was going to have to cut the grass again when I got back from DC but I can delay it for a few more days

You must be so happy with how the house is coming along and having such a beautiful kitchen and sink.

I don't have a dishwasher either. Actually like washing dishes. : )

I am in LOVE with your kitchen sink! Is it new or refurbished? Didn't you post about before your house was being built? I don't remember the details. That is pretty much exactly what I am looking for when we build our home.

Well, I told you that I had everything but the kitchen sink in my pack, and now I know why - you had the kitchen sink!!! Great looking sink, and I am very glad that you have it rather than it being in my pack! ;^) You new home will be fabulous!
